2024 College Football Week 10 Picks (ATS & Totals)
#13 Indiana @ Michigan State | Saturday, 3:30 p.m. ET
In East Lansing, Mich., Michigan State hosts the undefeated, 13th-ranked Indiana Hoosiers. This line is surprising, with Indiana favored by just 7.5 points despite boasting an 8-0 ATS record. Indiana has both the sixth-ranked total offense and the fifth-ranked total defense, and QB Kurtis Rourke is expected back under center, which could push their offense to another level.
Michigan State has shown some improvement, covering in three straight, including a strong win over Iowa. But the Spartans’ QB Aidan Chiles has been turnover-prone, and Indiana has proven they’re a different caliber of team this year. With RB Justice Ellison leading the ground game when it matters most, it’s hard to pass up Indiana in this spot. This game may have been close in past years, but these Hoosiers are on another level.
Pick: Indiana -7.5 (-108)
#10 Texas A&M @ South Carolina | Saturday, 7:30 p.m. ET
In the primetime slot, the 10th-ranked Texas A&M Aggies are 2.5-point favorites as they travel to Columbia, S.C., to face the 4-3 South Carolina Gamecocks. A&M’s offense took an interesting turn last week when Mike Elko benched Connor Weigman in favor of Marcel Reed, who went on to score three rushing touchdowns. While the Aggies aren’t elite in any particular area, they’re solid across the board and can control the clock on the ground.
South Carolina, however, has a better statistical defense and has quietly gone 5-2 ATS. The Aggies may lead the series 9-1, but they’re only 3-5 ATS this year. We’ll take the safer route for this game and hammer Texas A&M on the moneyline.
Pick: Texas A&M ML (-130)
#18 Pittsburgh @ #20 SMU | Saturday, 8:00 p.m. ET
Rounding out our Week 10 College Football picks, we have a Top-25 ACC matchup as the undefeated, 18th-ranked Pittsburgh Panthers travel to University Park, Texas, to face the 20th-ranked SMU Mustangs. Oddsmakers have SMU as a surprising 7.5-point favorite, but Pitt just dismantled Syracuse 41-13 and has been stellar on defense, turning over Syracuse five times. With rain in the forecast, conditions favor Pitt’s style of play, especially against an SMU team that just turned the ball over six times against Duke.
Pitt’s RB Desmond Reid has been a force, averaging 6.1 Yards Per Carry (YPC), and should play a big role in this weather-impacted game. SMU may be rolling, but their margin for error is thin against a disciplined Pitt team, so we’ll gladly take the points here.
Pick: Pittsburgh +7.5 (-115)
