What is DFS in golf?
DFS (Daily Fantasy Sports) in golf involves creating a lineup of golfers for a tournament while staying within a salary cap. Participants earn points based on the real-life performance of their selected golfers, such as scores, birdies, and finishing positions. It’s a short-term fantasy sports experience, typically lasting for a single tournament.
How does PGA DFS work?
In PGA DFS, you select a roster of golfers who you believe will excel in an upcoming tournament. Each golfer has a salary value, and you must build your lineup without exceeding the total salary cap. Points are awarded based on:
- Under-Par Scores: Earning points for birdies, eagles, etc.
- Finishing Position: Higher placements yield more points.
- Bonuses: Achieving streaks like consecutive birdies.
Success requires balancing high-priced stars with undervalued players who may outperform their cost.
