2024 College Football Week 13 Picks (ATS & Totals)

#16 Colorado @ Kansas | Saturday 3:30 p.m. ET

We’ve got a Big 12 showdown between the 16th-ranked Colorado Buffaloes and the giant-killing Kansas Jayhawks, who meet at Arrowhead Stadium. Kansas is coming off back-to-back wins over previously undefeated BYU and Iowa State, showcasing Lance Leipold’s ability to elevate his team when it matters most. The Jayhawks lean on their third-ranked rushing attack, led by senior RB Devin Neal, and have covered in four straight games.

But can they keep pace with coach Deion Sanders Buffaloes? Colorado has been on fire, covering in eight consecutive games. With Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter driving the seventh-ranked passing attack, Colorado is a nightmare matchup for Kansas, which ranks 89th in passing defense. The Jayhawks might put up a fight, but this feels like a game the Buffs win by a touchdown or more.

Pick: Colorado -2.5 (-112)

#4 Penn State @ Minnesota | Saturday 3:30 p.m. ET

It’s a Big Ten clash in Minneapolis between the fourth-ranked Penn State Nittany Lions and the Minnesota Golden Gophers. Penn State has rebounded impressively since its loss to Ohio State, racking up blowout wins over Purdue and Washington. With TE Tyler Warren emerging as a star and Drew Allar running Andy Kotelnicki’s high-powered offense, the Nittany Lions rank 14th in total offense and fourth in total defense.

Minnesota, meanwhile, has had a mixed season. While their defense ranks 11th nationally, their offense has been inconsistent. A loss to Rutgers and struggles against weaker teams don’t inspire confidence against a Penn State squad that has hit its stride. The Nittany Lions dominated the Gophers 45-17 in their last meeting in 2022, and this year’s Penn State team is significantly better.

Pick: Penn State -12.0 (-108)

#7 Alabama @ Oklahoma | Saturday, 7:30 p.m. ET

Finally, we turn to Norman, Okla., where the seventh-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide visit the Oklahoma Sooners as 14.0-point favorites. Alabama is peaking at the perfect time, with Jalen Milroe leading the Tide to three straight dominant wins over Missouri, LSU and Mercer by a combined score of 128-20. With the eighth-ranked scoring offense and 10th-ranked scoring defense, Alabama is turning into a complete team.

Oklahoma has shown some fight recently but remains inconsistent, dropping four of its last five games against solid opponents. The Sooners are just 3-7 ATS and boast the 111th-ranked total offense – a glaring weakness against Alabama’s elite defense. With the Tide surging and Oklahoma lacking firepower, 14 points feel like a gift.

Pick: Alabama -14.0 (-108)
