Super Bowl LVII Player Props
Jalen Hurts (QB, Philadelphia Eagles) OVER 10.5 Rushing Attempts | +105
Jalen Hurts’ mobility is one of the Eagles’ greatest trump cards heading into Super Bowl LVII. Therefore, seeing the rushing attempts over player prop on Hurts at plus money was a surprise. He’s hit this total in 47 percent of his games this season. However, it’s usually always been in closer games:
• Lions (won by three): 17 rushing attempts
• Jaguars (won by eight): 16 rushing attempts
• Colts (won by one): 16 rushing attempts
• Packers (won by seven) 17 rushing attempts
• Bears (won by five): 17 rushing attempts
With the books projecting it to be a close game, I’m confident head coach Nick Sirianni will call Hurts’ number on the ground. In addition, the Chiegs allowed the fifth-most rushing yards on the third-most rushing attempts to QBs this season.
I would also be interested in parlaying this prop with a Hurts Anytime TD prop at the right price.
Patrick Mahomes (QB, Kansas City) OVER 38.5 Passing Attempts | -12o
This prop doesn’t come at as great of a price as the other, but it feels even more likely to hit. Patrick Mahomes has totaled 42 and 49 passing attempts in his two Super Bowl appearances, respectively. I’d argue that the Eagles are the best offense they’ve faced yet in the Big Game.
Mahomes, hobbled with an ankle injury, just attempted 43 passes against the Bengals. Plus, the Eagles’ front seven is not a team easily ran against. They allowed just 81 rushing yards on 24 attempts to the 49ers in the NFC Championship. In the Divisional Round, they surrendered 118 on 20 attempts to the Giants.
With the Cheifs known for using screen and short passes as an extension of their run game, I expect Mahomes to toss the pigskin over 39 times, cashing in another of my Super Bowl player props.
