AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am (Live Bet): Andrew Novak
• Outright (+7500)
• Top 5 (+750)
• Top 10 (+240)
This is a tournament that is always a bit of a crapshoot. Andrew Novak is someone I liked coming into the week and is definitely capable of overcoming the four-shot deficit facing him heading into the final round.
We are likely to see another challenging day of weather on Sunday. The current forecast calls for rain and winds around 16-20 mph. Not that these conditions are conducive to a last-day charge, but they are favorable for Novak, who consistently performs better in high wind and challenging conditions.
Why do I believe this is important? The likelihood of the current leaders giving back strokes and Novak maintaining his pace set him up to steadily climb the leaderboard on Sunday. I like him to pick up three to four strokes per side and can foresee him finishing somewhere around 12 to 14 under. The current leader sits at 12 under and will likely start sliding in the wrong direction early into round four
Novak rated out very strongly for me this week in the key approach distances and has an excellent around-the-green game on the off chance he misses his approach.+7500 seems to be an incredible value for a player poised to play steady golf and gives himself excellent looks at birdies even in challenging conditions.
Slow and steady may win the race this week.
