Fall movie season is loaded this year, so we’re putting our reputations on the line and betting on Rotten Tomatoes scores before any of these hit wide release. First up is Other Mommy, Rob Savage’s Blumhouse horror flick starring Jessica Chastain as both a mother and the unsettling entity haunting her daughter. Then there’s Primetime, A24’s Robert Pattinson-led drama about the To Catch a Predator host that’s already splitting critics after its Venice premiere, praised for Pattinson’s performance but knocked by some for playing it too safe with its subject matter.
We’re walking through our score predictions for both, plus a few more of the season’s biggest titles, and explaining our reasoning behind each guess. We’re factoring in director track records, festival buzz, subject matter risk, and how critics have historically responded to movies in similar lanes.
