“A family always finds a way back.”
Hearing those opening words introducing “Jonas20: Greetings from Your Hometown Tour,” knowing the story of these talented brothers who shaped our childhoods, it just hits any red-blooded millennial right in the feels.
And like any millennial who probably watched a little too much television, despite my parents’ best attempts, the Jonas Brothers were, in many ways, all of our brothers. From their big Disney Channel days in the “Camp Rock” movies and “Jonas” show to their banger after banger albums, they were practically our family; just way more talented.

The Tour
The “Greetings from Your Hometown Tour” is a family homecoming. It celebrates their similarly-named seventh album (if you know, you know), released right before the tour began in August at MetLife Stadium, just a stone’s throw from Kevin, Nick and Joe’s hometown of Wyckoff, N.J.
The tour also commemorates their 20th anniversary as a band, and yes, it does make me feel old to think that I’ve been listening to the Jonas Brothers for 20 years. Of course, there were the dark days between their original 2000s album run and their glorious 2019 reunion for “Chasing Happiness,” when they pursued solo projects and families.
This show takes everything a long-time fan of the Jonas Brothers loves and creates a performance that is both new and nostalgia-filled for all fans to rock out and enjoy.
The Set List
The vibe of the concert is epitomized in how it kicks off, with fan-favorite 2008 song “Lovebug.” Much like the studio recording of the song, it starts off a little cutesy, pluckier, hinting at the boyish charm that made the Jonas Brothers so popular. And like the drop in the recording, the live show goes into full-on rocker mode, this time with the sex appeal that still makes them so popular, especially as their fans grew up alongside them.
From there, it transitions into “Love Me to Heaven,” a song off their new album that instantly feels familiar and like their next pop anthem. The set list continues with a mix of oldies and newies, group songs and solo ones, all with high energy and the musical chops that remind you why they’ve been in the business for 20 years. The live musical accompaniment absolutely kills it, with horns and sax players rocking out on stage alongside the “JoBros.”
It’s a fun show with music that spans their eras and fandoms, from the Disney days to their solo projects, including songs from DNCE joined by Joe’s co-stars. But of course, if you’ve seen anything about the “Jonas20: Greetings from Your Hometown Tour” online, you’ll probably know that part of what makes that trip down musical memory lane extra special is the guest list!
The Guest List
The first show kicked off the tour with a bang, not just because it was in front of their home crowd at MetLife Stadium, but because of the guest appearance from Demi Lovato. Yes, their “Camp Rock” co-star, ex to Joe Jonas and massive celebrity in her own right, Lovato joined them on stage to sing “This Is Me” and “Wouldn’t Change a Thing,” healing the hearts of millennials everywhere.
The inaugural show also included performances from Jesse McCartney and Switchfoot, joining for their song “Meant to Live” and the Jonas Brothers song they inspired, “Hold On.” Other dates have included appearances by Hanson, All Time Low, Fifth Harmony, Alessia Cara, Hoobastank and more.
The openers for the tour include Marshmello, also a collaborator on the “Greetings from Your Hometown” album, as well as The All-American Rejects and Boys Like Girls. It’s kind of a 2000s pop punk rock dream.
Most importantly, they’ve been joined on stage by their entire Jonas family (yes, even Frankie!) to sing “When You Look Me in the Eyes,” and I almost bawled my eyes out.
“Jonas20: Greetings from Your Hometown Tour” Bottom Line
The “Greetings from Your Hometown Tour” is pretty much guaranteed to be a good time for everyone, whether you’ve been a Jonas Brothers fan for 20 years or just got on the “JoBros” train. Like Shane and Mitchie sang to each other all those years ago, “I wouldn’t change a thing.”
