“The Weenie” finally answers the question this show has been building toward since episode one, and the reveal changes how we look at nearly everything in Rushville. Hal and John break into William Macon’s compound looking for answers, and what they find flips the entire mystery on its head. We’re breaking down every bit of it.
We’re covering Hal’s tense meeting with Sinestro and the clue about Manhunter physiology that sets up the whole episode, the break-in at Macon’s compound, and the reveal that Zoe Macon is actually the Manhunter everyone’s been hunting. We’re also getting into John’s choice not to expose her when he had the chance, what that says about how far he’s willing to go against the Guardians’ wishes, and that brutal final scene where Hal realizes John’s been keeping secrets and jumps out of a moving car, leaving John to crash alone.
We’re also giving our honest take on whether the show’s slow-burn approach is finally paying off or if it’s still finding its footing at the season’s halfway point. Let us know in the comments who you think Zoe really is and what you think happens to Hal and John’s partnership from here.
