Episode Recap
Camp Life
Vatu returns to camp following the 3-2-1 vote on Mike, and Ozzy is not sure what to think anymore. He tells the tribe he’s glad he still has his Shot in the Dark. Ozzy wishes he were in on the vote, as he was also left out of the Q vote the round before as well.
Christian’s hesitation with keeping Ozzy out of the vote proves to be correct, as Ozzy states in the confessional that he would’ve leaked the vote to Mike. Ozzy thinks Christian is the head of the Christian-Stephenie-Emily group that voted for Mike. He tells Stephenie that this is Christian’s game and that he wants to take a shot at him.
The next morning, Ozzy apologizes to Christian about his hot-headed response to the vote, but there is clearly still tension between the two of them.
Over to Cila, the original Kalo group of Jonathan, Kamila, Dee and Charlie are presumably together. Rick has built inroads with Jonathan, and they both think that Rizo is scheming and playing hard. Dee and Rizo continue to bond, with her telling him they need each other. Dee is the only remaining winner, and Rizo is an unknown commodity. Rizo also builds a relationship with Cirie.
Of interest, we do not see Cirie and Rick interacting, and the edit at the beginning of the swap shows them discussing the need to stick together.
Charlie approaches Rizo very early in the morning, when Rizo was sleeping out on the tribe’s boat. He asks Rizo if he told anyone else about the Billie Eilish Idol, and Rizo notes that he did tell Dee. Charlie confesses that he told Jonathan about it, assuming Rizo had already told him. This conversation is just awkward, starting with Charlie approaching Rizo to talk strategy so early in the morning. Rizo cooks up “Operation Bad Blood” to take out Charlie, talking with Cirie about voting Charlie out with her, Kamilla and Dee.
Finally, to the Coach tribe, oops, the Kalo tribe. It’s Coach’s world, and we are merely living in it. Everyone on this tribe wants to play the game with him. Coach builds a special affinity towards Joe, and if you’re close with Coach, you know he’s going to give you a nickname. Coach calls Joe the “Stone Monk” and Colby the “Oak Bound Warrior.” In his conversation with Colby, you can tell Colby isn’t really sure what to think, but goes along with it. Meanwhile, Joe is locked in.
Aubry is still apprehensive about her position on the tribe, but feels good with Tiffany and wants to work with Coach. He and Aubry strategize and agree that they would like to play the game together. Aubry hints that Coach will work with her under the right circumstances, so maybe that means Coach will lose an ally or two before his relationship with Aubry really blossoms.
Immunity Challenge

The tribes arrive on the beach for the immunity challenge, with Vatu walking in last. Some of the castaways are stunned to see Mike White voted out, specifically Dee and Jonathan. Unlike in previous immunity challenges, two tribes will go to tribal council here, and each tribe will vote someone off. Chrissy and Colby sit out for Kalo, and Kamilla and Devens for Cila.
Castaways start the challenge with two players each collecting two bags of coconuts from a podium in the water, and then bringing them to shore and through a sand crawl. Jonathan and Ozzy give their respective tribes an early lead.
Next, once the players reach the beach, one player per tribe opens the bags of coconuts to retrieve four keys, with one key unlocking a box with the grappling hook. Players use the grappling hook to retrieve a bag of sandbags, and then try and land sandbags on five different small platforms.
All three tribes reach the sandbags at similar times, but Joe wins immunity for Kalo with his superior sandbag-throwing. This sends Vatu back to a third straight tribal council, and Cila to their first as a new tribe.
Vatu Camp
Angelina is an easy vote here, as she was tied to Mike and has no strong allies. Ozzy is still upset with Christian about the breach of trust, and needs insurance that he won’t go home. He asks Christian to give him his Shot in the Dark for this tribal as an insurance policy.
Ozzy then goes to Emily, and the two of them hash things out a bit as they want to trust each other. Ozzy tells Emily that she and Christian could be targeted as a duo, and thus, voting out Christian would be good for her game.
Emily turns around and leaks this to Christian, and, in response, he follows through and gives Ozzy his Shot in the Dark to build trust. Ozzy thinks he can trust Christian a bit more, but is still unsure if he is ready to move forward with him in the game.
Cila Camp

Over to Cila, where Rizo and Charlie continue to target each other. Rizo is convinced that Kamilla is the swing vote he needs to take Charlie out. He tells her that Kyle was his closest ally and that Kyle told him to work with Kamilla if he had the chance. Kamilla is skeptical, but she also does not trust Charlie.
Rizo confides in Cirie that he received a Billie Eilish Boomerang Idol from someone on another tribe. Cirie, in turn, mentions that she received an extra vote from Ozzy, who won it at the Fight for Supplies. Kamilla appears to be in the middle on this vote and could go either way.
Tribal Council
Starting at the Vatu tribal, Ozzy points out that he, Christian and Emily have been to every single tribal so far. Jeff asks Ozzy what the residual impact of going to tribal is, and Ozzy replies, “Playing the right game with the right people makes tribal a golden opportunity.” Stephenie says, “Coming to tribal, you’re forced to find people that you trust in this game.”
Angelina pitches herself as a ride-or-die kind of ally, but it falls on deaf ears, as she is voted out unanimously, 4-1. Angelina gives her jacket to the tribe on the way out, an homage to her iconic moment with Natalie on “Survivor: David vs. Goliath.”
At the Cila tribal, Charlie says that the game is on, and he’s up against a bunch of veteran liars. Rizo speaks on the fact that nobody knows his game, so he is proactively telling people he played a loyal game and asking them to use him as a number.
Rizo also says he’s “Playing with house money,” in reference to returning so quickly after “Survivor 49.” Charlie says “he sees a bit of himself in Rizo.” The tribal mainly focuses on the two of them, which makes sense as the vote is between the two. Jeff reads the votes, and after four votes, it’s three on Rizo and one on Charlie. However, the remaining three Charlie votes roll out one by one, and Charlie is voted out 4-3.
Survivor 50 Castaway Betting Odds

Each week, I’ll rank and pair the remaining “Survivor 50” castaways with betting odds to win the game. These odds are subject to change after each episode. When castaways are eliminated, edits become clearer. As a result, win equities will diverge, and odds will become more favorable to some and less favorable to others.
I have ranked players with a negative or limited edit with poorer odds. I’ve leveled the midfield more this week, as more players have attended tribal and are building game relationships. I’ve bumped both Rizo and Cirie up after last tribal, and I’ve dropped Rick a bit as he was on the wrong side of this vote. I continue to drop my winner pick, Emily Flippen, as she is too leaky, but she is still in a fairly good position.
A few additional notes: Despite his strong edit, I cannot give Ozzy better than his current odds. I think it will get out quickly that he has an idol, and he really only has Stephenie, Emily and Cirie as allies. Despite Kamilla’s stronger episode here, I still have her lower as she was essentially invisible until this week.

Top Five Baby!

“Top five, baby!” The phrase coined by the great Tony Vlachos in “Survivor Cagayan” rings true here and will throughout the season. The five most impactful castaways this episode and moving forward, in my eyes, are as follows:
Christian Hubicki
Christian stays on top. He takes out Angelina, who would’ve never trusted him again after he flipped on Mike White. Ozzy is wary of him, but he will be able to reconnect with Rick and Cirie at the merge. He has Emily locked in as his closest ally, a good relationship with Stephenie and sent Aubry an idol that she still has. If he can somehow turn Ozzy into an ally, he will be really protected and have a great chance to win this thing.
Coach
Welcome back, Coach! Coach has received a significant amount of content, mostly positive, despite never attending tribal. Coach was well-liked on his original Kalo tribe, and is currently aligned with Joe, Colby, Chrissy and, to an extent, Genevieve and Aubry. His only current adversary? Ozzy, who has limited social pull. Since Coach plays a fairly transparent game, I do not think he is viewed as a threat… at the moment. He should have longevity in this game.
Rizo Velovic
R-I-Z G-O-D survives a close tribal here, and locks in with Dee, Cirie and somewhat Kamilla. Coming into the merge, Rizo has an idol and can reconnect with Stephenie, Colby and Genevieve. The only detriment to his game is that Jonathan and Rick voted for him, and both players are fairly well-liked and well-connected.
Rizo seems primed to be in a good spot moving forward. I could see him and Genevieve becoming No. 1 allies, considering she gave him the idol he has. If he can connect to Ozzy through Cirie, that group could be really powerful. The possibilities are endless for young Rizo, and I’m excited to see how he approaches this merge.
Colby Donaldson
Colby drops one spot, but his odds to win went up! He arrives at the merge incredibly well-liked. He’s injured, and thus is not a challenge threat, and doesn’t have any enemies so far. I think Colby could slide in with a variety of groups here at the merge and should be safe for a while. His connection to Genevieve is potentially huge, as she is connected to two of the three idols in the game. He’s also good with Coach, so if he’s somehow targeted, Coach would need to be left out of the vote as well.
Cirie Fields
Welcome to the top five, Cirie. It’s about time! Cirie expertly navigated a bad swap, down 4-2-1 in the group of two. She built relationships with Rizo, Dee and Kamilla, and is still connected to Rick, albeit not as strongly as at the beginning of the swap. She gets to meet back up with both Christian and Ozzy at the merge and maybe be the glue that sticks them together and aligns them again.
The fact that Cirie avoided a target on the swap tribe as an alleged duo with Rick and on her original tribe as a duo with Ozzy is really impressive. I’m excited to see what webs she can weave at the merge, as somehow, I don’t think anyone is coming for her.
