It’s Week 17, and while fantasy football championships are going to be decided elsewhere, we’re in the DFS streets. That means you probably need some help deciding who to pick from this Sunday’s slate for a winning lineup. No need to worry, though, I’ve got you!
As a side note, the “I” in question is not James, who usually writes these articles. It is Ben, the one who usually writes the “Shore Thing Sleepers” articles. James is a-okay, just think of it as an elf helping out Santa!
Week 17 NFL “FastDraft Flex Six Frenzy” Lineup Advice (2025) | NFL DFS Picks
Chase Brown (RB, Cincinnati Bengals)
You know, when UPS was always asking, “What can brown do for you?” Well, it’s more like “What can’t Chase Brown do for you?” After a rough and rocky beginning of the season, he’s almost been a guarantee for delivering a 100+ scrimmage yard game, and now he’s also scoring multiple touchdowns alongside these big games! In his last nine games, Brown averaged 102.3 scrimmage yards, with eight of those nine games seeing him go over 90+ scrimmage yards. Then, in two of the last three games, he scored multiple touchdowns!
You also could not set up a more perfect matchup for the third-year running back if you tried. The Cardinals have allowed a running back to have 100+ scrimmage yards in three straight games. Then, a running back has scored a touchdown against the Cardinals in seven straight! So, you’re getting a running back whose average stats are right in line with what their opponent allows, or even better, as the case is with his touchdowns. As I said, it couldn’t be any more perfect for Chase Brown!
Ashton Jeanty (RB, Las Vegas Raiders)
It’s truly “any given Sunday” in the NFL, because I don’t think anyone, not even bold predictors, predicted that Ashton Jeanty would have 128 rushing yards, a rushing touchdown, 60 receiving yards and a receiving touchdown against the Texans last week. It hasn’t been the greatest of seasons for the rookie and former Boise State prodigy, as last week was only the second time this season he had 120+ rushing yards and a rushing touchdown. But how about ending the season on a high note?!
When I think of the New York Giants’ defense, the first thing that comes to mind is their defensive line consisting of Abdul Carter, Dexter Lawrence and Brian Burns. I should be scared of this matchup! Well, that’s where you’re wrong, because in four games this season, the Giants allowed a running back to have 106+ rushing yards and a touchdown. Wild, right?! What if I told you that three of those instances have happened in the last eight games? Heck, I can get even more recent if you want! How about the Giants allowing three running backs in the last four games to have 85+ rushing yards, with two of them scoring a rushing touchdown alongside it? Oh, and don’t even get me started on how the last time a running back didn’t score 11+ fantasy points against the Giants was in Week 7. I’m not scared of this Giants defense, and Ashton Jeanty shouldn’t be either.
Chris Olave (WR, New Orleans Saints)
Chris Olave has come alive this season, and he’s on a real heater lately. In three of his last four games, Olave has gotten four-plus receptions on seven-plus targets for 47+ receiving yards and a touchdown, averaging 14.7+ fantasy points! This isn’t anything new either, because he’s quietly been consistent, only ending four games this season without scoring at least 12.4+ fantasy points. And it’s only gotten better ever since the Saints have given Tyler Shough the starting quarterback job. In those seven starts, Olave averaged 5.7 receptions for 77.2 yards, 0.7 touchdowns and 17.7 fantasy points!
That all sounds great, especially considering that the Titans have allowed a wide receiver to score 16.6+ fantasy points in five of their last six games since their bye. Honestly, I think it would’ve been six straight if Gardner Minshew hadn’t gotten injured and had Chris Oladokun come in and replace him last week. It’d be just silly for me not to expect Chris Olave to have a big game with the season he’s having. Looking at the numbers these wide receivers have been putting up against the Titans lately certainly helps, with Nico Collins (9-92-1) in Week 11, Jaxon Smith-Njigba (8-167-2) in Week 12, Jakobi Meyers (6-90-1) in Week 13, Jerry Jeudy (3-76-1) in Week 14, and the duo of Jauan Jennings (3-37-2) and Ricky Pearsall (6-96-0) in Week 15.
NOTE: He is questionable with a back injury, but according to Nick Underhill, “I’m told Chris Olave (back) being limited in practice was just precautionary. He’s expected to be a full go on Sunday.”
Jakobi Meyers (WR, Jacksonville Jaguars)
Choo choo! Get on the hype train because this Jaguars offense is firing on all cylinders! That includes Jakobi Meyers, who was traded from the Raiders right before the deadline. Last week wasn’t his best game, ending with four receptions for 45 yards, but if that’s one of the worst games he’s had as a Jaguar, and considering that his matchup was the red-hot Broncos, I’ll allow it. Ever since he became a Jaguar, Meyers has averaged 4.4 receptions for 57.1 yards, 0.4 touchdowns and 12.9 fantasy points. So, it makes sense that when you’re hot, you should see more targets, which has happened for Meyers in the last three games. He only saw six targets from Weeks 10-13, but he then got seven-plus in Weeks 14-16.
Now, the Colts will have Sauce Gardner back for this matchup, which will help their secondary. I didn’t say it would help a lot, though, because in the last five weeks, ten different wide receivers have put up double-digit fantasy points. Looking specifically at the target range we hope for from Jakobi Meyers (7-10), in those last five games, WRs who got 7-10 targets averaged five receptions for 71.5 yards and 14.3 fantasy points. Oh, and it also helps that only three weeks ago, James correctly called Meyers, who ended the day with four receptions for 39 yards and a touchdown against the Colts!
Trey McBride (TE, Arizona Cardinals)
Yes, you’re going to have to pay top-dollar for Trey McBride. But when you get the chance to have the best tight end against a team that has been really bad against the tight end position, you have to take it. Last week, McBride had his worst game of the season with four receptions for 27 yards. That’s bottom-line shocking, considering that from Weeks 6-15 with Jacoby Brissett starting, he was averaging 8.4 receptions for 88.4 yards and a touchdown.
So, this is a code red for the Bengals’ defense, because McBride is looking for a bounce-back game! As if it wasn’t already a code red situation for the Bengals, who have yet to figure out how to stop the tight ends this year. They’re the worst at every aspect of the position. They’ve allowed 105 receptions, seven more than second place. Yards? No problem! The Bengals have allowed 1,362, which is 322 more than the Seahawks, who have allowed the second-most. Oh, and they’ve allowed 15 touchdowns to the position, which is five more than any other team coming into Week 17! Bottom line, Trey McBride is going to be worth the cost.
Juwan Johnson (TE, New Orleans Saints)
This is the most popular Saints tight end that everyone’s talking about, right? Oh, my bad. That’s Taysom Hill, but we need to talk about Juwan Johnson. Now, it was a teeny bit of a struggle for Johnson from Weeks 13 through 15, as he saw four to five receptions but never surpassed 39 receiving yards in a game. He bounced back in Week 16 against the Jets, during which he had eight receptions for 89 yards.
I will say my interest in Johnson this week is partially because, besides Olave, Johnson is one of the only healthier pieces left on the Saints. They’re down Alvin Kamara, Kendre Miller, Devin Neal and Devaughn Vele, with the last three on Injured Reserve (IR), and that’s just the playmakers. They’re surviving out here to end the season.
So, with him being one of the healthiest pieces left and expected to be heavily targeted, let’s look at how the Titans have fared against the tight end position. Oh, they’ve allowed a tight end to have 45+ receiving yards and a touchdown in three of their last four games, including 88+ yards and a touchdown in two of the last three. This is too good a matchup to pass up on! Hey, who knows, he may even break this five-game streak of being touchdownless by scoring one on Sunday!
