Week 2 NFL DFS Picks & Lineup Advice (2025) | FastDraft Flex Six Frenzy

by James Danielson

One week down, 17 to go, folks! Week 1 brought a lot of ups and downs, unknowns and surprises. But hey, that’s the NFL for you. That’s also why we love fantasy football and daily fantasy sports, or DFS, because no matter how much you crunch numbers, it can all go awry in a second. Week 2 brings more excitement and fun, with a few really big games and others with great implied point totals.

Let’s not waste any time and dive right into this week’s picks for “Flex Six Frenzy” on the FastDraft App!

Week 2 NFL “FastDraft Flex Six Frenzy” Lineup Advice (2025) | NFL DFS Picks

Christian McCaffrey (RB, San Francisco 49ers)

This seems like it could end up being the biggest layup of the upcoming game slate. Just when you thought the situation for Christian McCaffrey couldn’t get any better from a fantasy football or DFS standpoint, it does. The 49ers are once again depleted by the injury bug, which I fully believe is a permanent resident of San Francisco. Star tight end George Kittle lands on the IR (Injured Reserve) and will miss at a minimum of four games. Wide receiver Jauan Jennings isn’t practicing due to a shoulder injury. Their highly paid quarterback, Brock Purdy, is now also a “long shot” to play this week, according to Head Coach Kyle Shanahan. It’s almost as if McCaffrey is syphoning the health from these guys so he can stay on the field.

Jokes aside, Christian McCaffrey is in store for a steady, probably over-the-top workload, which is wild considering he played on 76% of snaps last week and led all running backs in the NFL with 32 total opportunities. This week, we could be looking at 35-40 opportunities for “CMC” and if that’s the case, he’s a smash play. If Purdy doesn’t start, it’ll be the Mac Jones show, and he’ll likely also look to the vet RB for production. With the “Flex Six Frenzy” game using full PPR as the scoring format, McCaffrey’s third-place finish last week among running backs and nine receptions is a tease. This week, he faces the New Orleans Saints, who let James Conner finish as a top 16 running back, and he only caught four passes. Draft Christian McCaffrey this week.

James Conner (RB, Arizona Cardinals)

The aforementioned James Conner comes in as my second pick for this week’s “Flex Six Frenzy.” A lot of people were afraid that fellow running back Trey Benson would steal away too many snaps for Conner for the latter to remain as good a fantasy player this year as he has been. However, even with Benson relieving Conner on occasion, it was Conner getting the bulk of the work. In Week 1, 65% of the snaps went to Conner, and that was enough for him to finish as the RB16 in PPR formats.

This week, Conner and the Arizona Cardinals face a Carolina defense that, based on their performance last week, still seems to be terrible at stopping running backs. The Jacksonville Jaguars’ Travis Etienne Jr. went off in Week 1 with a stat line of 16 carries for 143 yards, averaging 8.9 yards per carry. Etienne also caught three passes for 13 yards. If the Panthers continue to struggle immensely against the run, and they will, Conner is a shoo-in for a big day. As of now, the Cardinals are favored by 6.5 points, meaning the sports books agree that they’ll get out ahead and win handily. If that’s the case, the Cardinals will be handing the ball off to James Conner to ice the game and he’ll have another great week.

Emeka Egbuka (WR, Tampa Bay Buccaneers)

The rookie wide receiver for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers finished off last week as the WR4. But that’s not even the impressive part; Emeka Egbuka did that with only four receptions on six targets. That’s what happens when you find the endzone twice. Egbuka was in on 93% of snaps, however I do expect that number to go down once Chris Godwin returns. But that’s something to account for in the future, not this week, luckily.

Emeka Egbuka and the Buccaneers face the Houston Texans in Week 2, and despite having a great defensive line, the Texans struggle to stop the pass. Last week, the Los Angeles Rams’ Puka Nacua torched them with 130 yards on 10 receptions. The Texans are favored in this game, but only by 2.5 points. Knowing the Buccaneers and quarterback Baker Mayfield, they’re going to look to pass the ball. Especially if this ends up being a throwing affair for both teams, the rookie might be looking at another solid day as long as his coworker Mike Evans is held in check. I really like Emeka Egbuka this week and anticipate him getting multiple receptions and finding the end zone once again.

D.K. Metcalf (WR, Pittsburgh Steelers)

D.K. Metcalf was on my radar all off-season as a wide receiver I wanted as much as possible in fantasy football. After last week, that hasn’t changed a bit and I will be putting him in as many DFS lineups as possible. Last week, Metcalf and “Old Man” Aaron Rodgers showed their compatibility against the New York Jets. Metcalf was targeted seven times and although he had only four receptions, he turned them into 83 yards, averaging 20.75 yards per reception (YPR). Metcalf failed to find the end zone, but I think he finds it this week.

The Seattle Seahawks have a pretty decent defense, as shown last week against the San Francisco 49ers. However, they did give up 108 yards through the air to Ricky Pearsall. In my mind, Metcalf is a much better receiver than Pearsall, and that opens the window for him to use his grown man body against their defensive backs. Aaron Rodgers is going to look to pass, and to be honest, I thought he looked really good last week. Rodgers was dealing the ball and played much better than most of his tenure on the Jets. The Seattle defense has its holes, and if Aaron Rodgers and D.K. Metcalf can find them, it’s going to be a solid outing for the pair.

Trey McBride (TE, Arizona Cardinals)

It seems like I’m all in on the Cardinals this week in fantasy football and the common denominator is obviously the fact that they play the Carolina Panthers. But the truth of the matter is that Trey McBride is one of the few elite tight ends in the NFL today. The young man has an uncanny knack for getting open and collecting targets. Last week, he finished tied for second in targets among NFL tight ends with nine, which amounted to 61 yards and averaged 10.17 YPR. That’s very respectable for a tight end.

The Cardinals love to throw him the ball, and although McBride didn’t find the endzone last week, he was one missed tackle away from a touchdown. As mentioned, the Cardinals are favored nicely, and I think quarterback Kyler Murray finds his tight end early and often against an absolutely abysmal Panthers defense. There are makings here for Trey McBride to have a very nice game, and I don’t want to be left out when it happens.

Hunter Henry (TE, New England Patriots)

Look, the Patriots will be using their shiny new toy running back, TreVeyon Henderson, quite a bit. I think Henderson’s usage will continue to grow as the weeks pass. But quarterback Drake Maye is sneaky good, and he loves Hunter Henry. Last week, Henry played 93% of snaps and had four catches on a solid eight targets. He also had more receiving yards than his fellow tight end featured in the section above, Trey McBride. However, like McBride, I think Henry falls into the endzone this week and here is why.

The Patriots take on the Miami Dolphins, who are probably one or two losses away from shoving Head Coach Mike McDaniel out the door. It’s getting ugly in Miami and the vibes are terrible. Not only that, but rookie tight end Tyler Warren of the Indianapolis Colts had a solid debut against them last week, which was a good enough showing for him to finish as the TE2 of Week 1. I think Patriots Head Coach Mike Vrabel saw the weakness that the Colts exploited with Warren and implemented drives and will create situations just for Henry. I know the vet TE isn’t nearly as athletic as Warren. But Hunter Henry is a go-to target for Maye, especially in the red zone and if the Patriots get down inside the 20, I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see Vrabel dial up some plays for the big-bodied tight end.
