Week 8 NFL DFS Picks & Lineup Advice (2025) | FastDraft Flex Six Frenzy

by James Danielson

I hope you’re all ready for what’s coming this week, because it’s not something that you are going to enjoy when it comes to fantasy football and daily fantasy sports (DFS). That’s right, it’s Week 8 and that means the “Byepocalypse” has arrived. This week is when a handful of teams have their bye week. Six teams to be exact, and they are the Cardinals, Jaguars, Lions, Raiders, Rams and Seahawks. That means a lot of big-name fantasy players will have the week off to rest and recover. Nevertheless, we must adapt and pivot as we always do. So let’s take a look at some players that can help you form a winning lineup for DFS or FastDraft Flex Six Frenzy!

Week 8 NFL “FastDraft Flex Six Frenzy” Lineup Advice (2025) | NFL DFS Picks

Bijan Robinson (RB, Atlanta Falcons)

Easily one of the top three running backs in the NFL at this point, Bijan Robinson of the Atlanta Falcons is my first smash play of Week 8. This season, he has been on an absolute tear. He currently sits as the RB3 overall with only one game finished outside the top ten. Even in that week, he finished as the RB14 against the Carolina Panthers. Otherwise, all of his fantasy finishes are RB10 or better, and he finished as the RB6 or better in four of six weeks. He is the backbone of the Atlanta Falcons, and they most definitely run through him.

This week, Robinson takes on the Miami Dolphins at home. In case you missed it, the Dolphins just gave up 84 yards rushing and three touchdowns to Cleveland Browns rookie Quinshon Judkins. Judkins was on this list last week, and you can see why. The Dolphins are the third-easiest matchup for fantasy running backs through seven weeks, letting the position scamper for an average of 26.6 points per game. While Miami struggles to defend the run, they do shut down opposing wide receivers as a top ten defense against the position. This gives you all the more reason to put Bijan Robinson in your lineup and watch him run all over Miami.

Jonathan Taylor (RB, Indianapolis Colts)

In my opinion, Jonathan Taylor of the Indianapolis Colts is the best all-purpose running back in the NFL this season. He’s averaging a healthy 22 opportunities per game. This has amounted to an average of 99 rushing yards and nearly 1.5 touchdowns per game. Pretty hard to argue with that kind of workload and production. The Colts are firing on all cylinders, and Taylor is powering those cylinders. You think Bijan Robinson’s weekly finishes are impressive? Taylor is the next step up. In five of seven games, Taylor has finished as the RB7 or better, finishing as the RB1 twice, and the RB2 or RB3 once each.

Jonathan Taylor and company take on the Tennessee Titans, who, through seven games, have been abysmal against fantasy running backs. They’re the fourth easiest matchup for the position and allow an enticing 25.2 points per game. If the Colts’ workhorse back keeps doing what he has been doing for the first seven games of the season, it might be a very long afternoon for the Titans. Now, with how well both Jonathan Taylor and Bijan Robinson have been playing, they’re going to be expensive on a lot of DFS formats and probably get drafted first thing on Flex Six Frenzy. But, if you want a leg up for your running back position, you can’t go wrong with these two in Week 8.

Rome Odunze (WR, Chicago Bears)

Before the last two weeks, it looked like Chicago Bears wide receiver Rome Odunze was on the verge of a serious breakout season. Prior to these two most recent games, Odunze was finishing as a top 21 wide receiver weekly and topped out as the WR4 in Week 2. The Bears have leaned on the run game a lot lately, and quarterback Caleb Williams hasn’t looked as good. However, I fully believe that this is the week we get back the Rome Odunze we saw in the first four games of the season. Caleb Williams will get it going again, and defenses will start to focus on the run game if it keeps producing.

This week, the Bears face off against the Baltimore Ravens. And if you don’t know by now, well, I love to pick on them and start wideouts against them. They’re still almost bottoming out, as they’re the fifth-easiest matchup for fantasy wide receivers. The Ravens are allowing 33 points per game to the position, and that has to look good to Head Coach Ben Johnson, who will want to get his air attack back. You should be able to grab Rome Odunze at a good price or a nice draft position and look for him and the Bears to have a “get right” game for their passing attack.

Zay Flowers (WR, Baltimore Ravens)

This pick is extremely dependent on whether quarterback Lamar Jackson plays. The rumor before their bye week was that he should be ready to go in Week 8. That time is now, and the Ravens need to get back to winning if they want to hold onto their aspirations of a Super Bowl. There’s no question that wide receiver Zay Flowers has struggled immensely and all but disappeared while Jackson has been sidelined. But the truth of the matter is that if Jackson is back, I don’t think they will hesitate to air the ball out right away. Flowers has the ability to score his way into a top ten finish. You saw it in Week 1 when he finished as the WR1 overall. If Lamar Jackson plays, and I think he will, I love the chances for Zay Flowers to have a great game.

However, it’s not just Jackson’s return that has me thinking that. Despite the Bears playing much better, they still give up a lot of points to the wide receiver position. They sit as a bottom ten defense against the position through seven weeks, allowing 30.7 points per game to the position. Toss in the fact that this game has an implied point total of 50 points, which could mean we likely have a shootout on our hands. If that holds true, I want pieces of this game. Hence, my picks of Rome Odunze and Zay Flowers.

Dalton Kincaid (TE, Buffalo Bills)

Right now, tight end Dalton Kincaid is questionable for the week with an oblique injury that held him out in Week 6 against the Atlanta Falcons. However, he’s considered “day-to-day,” and I think he plays this week against the Carolina Panthers. Kincaid has quietly been very consistent this season when it comes to finding the endzone. The big tight end has scored in three of his five games played and is averaging 11.3 points per game. It might not seem like a ton of points, but I’d rather have a guy who is finding the endzone more often than not over a tight end who gets four catches for 40 yards a game.

Dalton Kincaid and the Bills look to take down the Carolina Panthers this week in a bounce-back game after getting destroyed by the Atlanta Falcons. You can bet your bottom dollar that quarterback Josh Allen and company are ticked off about that and spent the bye week looking to right the wrongs. Fortunately for them and for Kincaid, the Panthers are not good against the tight end position. Coming into Week 8, they’re the fifth-easiest matchup for fantasy tight ends and give up an average of 13.1 points per game. If I were a betting man, I’d put my money on Dalton Kincaid playing and the Bills playing a dominant bounce-back game on Sunday.

Cade Otton (TE, Tampa Bay Buccaneers)

The poor Buccaneers just keep getting trounced with injury after injury to the pass catchers. Just after getting back, veteran wide receiver Mike Evans was lost on Monday Night Football to a concussion and broken collarbone. That opened the door for tight end Cade Otton. On Monday Night Football, he tallied nine targets that accumulated seven catches for 65 yards. With Evans out, and wide receiver Chris Godwin possibly out again, Otton could have another good game.

This week, the Bucs face off against the New Orleans Saints, who are in the bottom half against the tight end position. It isn’t a premier matchup for Otton, but with all the injuries to the Bucs offense, I don’t think quarterback Baker Mayfield is going to have a choice but to target him more often. If Godwin does suit up, I’m not too worried about the production going down far enough for Cade Otton to be irrelevant. He is, after all, nicknamed “Mr. Necessary” when it comes to fantasy football.
