If there’s one thing to avoid in fantasy football, it’s finishing in last place. This is due to the last-place finisher likely having to be subject to a punishment. Whether that punishment is creative or embarrassing, you may not have an agreed-upon one yet. That’s why I’ve compiled a list of fantasy football punishment ideas to inspire your 2024 league.
Fantasy Football Punishment Ideas (2024)
Spending 24 Hours at a Restaurant
This fantasy football punishment has become quite popular recently. The idea first started being floated around, where the last-place finisher would spend 24 hours at a Waffle House. Although, there was a caveat: Each waffle consumed would reduce the time by one hour.
However, you can adapt this similar idea to any restaurant. Whatever you do, make sure the leagues compile a list of what items shave some time off the clock. For example, a McDonalds hamburger would reduce one hour, but fries would reduce only 30 minutes.
Just don’t expect them to have an appetite for that food for a few weeks.
Open Mic Night
Want to hear a joke? When your opponent thought they weren’t going to finish in last.
Just like how that joke bombed, their set will likely do the same. The last-place finisher would have to complete the comedy routine, filled with jokes written by the other leaguemates. You could also be kinder to the person and have them look up and write their own jokes, but remember, it’s a punishment.
Make a TikTok Dance Video
Why not have the last-place finisher keep up with the social media trends by having them perform a viral dance and post it on TikTok?
There are also certain ways this can be done. Whether it’s just post one TikTok, or have them perform a daily dance for a month. You could even add a twist where the finisher has to get a set number of likes or views. So, if you end up scrolling on TikTok, you can laugh at your leaguemate’s dancing.
Tattoo/Piercing
The classic tattoo or piercing fantasy football punishment: Whether it’s a simple “2024 Fantasy Football Loser” or a design that all the leaguemates came up with. In this punishment, you could also have the person who won the league decide on the tattoo. That way, the winner gets a little extra for winning the league.
Re-take the SAT/ACT Test
While we’re still on the topic of the classics, this punishment is re-taking the SAT or ACT and posting the score. Nobody likes taking these standardized tests, so that’s why it would be the perfect fantasy football punishment.
To ensure they take it seriously and not just circle C for every answer, set a minimum score they must achieve, or they’ll have to buy all the leaguemates’ bar tabs. You can also add in the factor of the last-place finisher being dressed in an outfit of the leaguemates choosing.
Stuffed Animal/Cardboard Cutout Date
This punishment is pretty embarrassing but hilarious. The loser would get a giant stuffed animal or cardboard cutout of a celebrity of the leaguemates choosing, and make a reservation for two at a nice restaurant. Why not make it go a step further? Simply have the last-place finisher make sure that everybody in the restaurant acknowledges their stuffed or cardboard significant other as their date.
“Car Troubles”
This one is all related to the car. The victim can show off their new license plate like “FFLAST,” which shows them why they shouldn’t have come in last in fantasy football. Better yet, they can pair it with a new license plate frame that goes along the lines of “I suck at Fantasy Football.” If that idea doesn’t work, why not get them a custom bumper sticker that says “2024 Fantasy Football Loser”?
The most extreme route I’ve ever seen a fantasy football punishment go related to the car was wrapping their whole car in a different color and having it say “I came in last place in Fantasy Football” on the doors.
“Honk if I Suck at Fantasy Football”
Going from car-related ones to ones that require the drivers to honk at you. Have a sign that says “Honk if I suck at Fantasy Football”, and with the person in last place being dressed in an outfit of the league’s choosing. Then, you have to meet a certain threshold of honks or a set time for the punishment to end.
Getting Waxed
They are already in pain, dreading what fantasy football punishment will be decided. Now, they just have to deal with the pain of getting their body waxed. It can be the full body or just the eyebrows. It’s something that all the leaguemates can watch and writhe in pain or laugh at.
Beer Mile
There’s nothing like enjoying beer with your friends… except this one has a twist to it. You do get to drink a beer, but then you stop at every quarter mile and drink another beer. The drinking beer part is fun, but running right after it is the punishment. Also, please be safe with this one and have a designated driver on standby!
