Arguably the team on the biggest upswing in the NASCAR Cup Series at the moment, Front Row Motorsports, has been living up to its name more often than ever lately.
Both Todd Gilliland and Michael McDowell have run stronger than ever over the last few seasons. Although McDowell is leaving for Spire Motorsports next season, Front Row announced that Noah Gragson will replace him starting in 2025.
Front Row Motorsports’ 2025 Lineup Excited for the Future
Gragson, currently driving the No. 10 for Stewart-Haas Racing (SHR), has one T5 and six T10 finishes heading into Indianapolis. Having his future plans locked in is a relief to his mindset at the racetrack.
“It allows me to be in the right headspace,” Gragson said in a July 13 interview at Pocono Raceway.
The third-year Cup Series driver had been keeping potential negotiations on the back of his mind since the announcement that SHR would be shutting down following 2024.
“You’re racing with a lot of guys in the Cup Series that have relationships to teams,” Gragson said. “And in the back of my mind, it’s like, ‘Am I racing these guys too hard? Will that potentially take away opportunities from me?'”
“I shouldn’t be thinking about (that); it’s kinda taken away a little bit of my effort, energy and focus away from doing what I need to,” Gragson said. “Knowing that I have a home for next year, [I’ll] be able to fully focus on racing.”
Todd Gilliland will be one of Gragson’s teammates and is looking forward to what’s to come at Front Row Motorsports.
“[Noah and I] have gained a lot of respect for each other,” Gilliland said. “The speed that he’s had is very impressive.”
The team still has one seat to fill but is currently quite young and inexperienced compared to others in the Cup Series garage. Gilliland is 24-years-old, and Gragson turns 26 this week. Neither driver has more than three seasons of Cup Series experience.
“It’s definitely different than most teams,” Gilliland said. “That’s the exciting part. I think we’re putting together a very nice team.”
