2024 Ally 400 Betting Picks: Outrights

  • Ross Chastain (+750)
  • Martin Truex Jr. (+750)
  • Chase Elliott (+800)

Ross Chastain (+750)

It hasn’t been the greatest start to the season for Ross Chastain, but things are looking up for the No. 1 team. Chastain has been no worse than 12th in the last six weeks, heading into arguably his best track in Nashville. He’s been no worse than P5 in the three races here, putting his outright odds on DraftKings near the top of the board at +750.

The No. 1 led 99 laps in a dominating win at Nashville last season, bringing his average finish in the Music City to 2.7. Trackhouse Racing is also (loosely) based out of Nashville, meaning the team puts plenty of emphasis on this weekend.

Chastain’s teammate Daniel Suarez is also +8000 to win if you’re looking for a longshot upset.

Martin Truex Jr. (+750)

I know it’s starting to feel like I’m beating a dead horse here, picking Martin Truex Jr. more often than I should be, especially for a driver who has yet to win in 2024. The books are still favoring Truex as much as I am, once again at a +750 on DraftKings.

His performance of late hasn’t been especially inspiring; a P9 at New Hampshire was his first T10 in six races. Still, the No. 19 has been at the top of the board in ifantasyrace.com’s total speed ranking metric in both Next-Gen Nashville races. Truex Jr. has led 132 laps in those races and was the 2023 runner-up here.

Chase Elliott (+800)

Chase Elliott is quietly having an unbelievably strong and consistent start to 2024. The No. 9 team has finished in the top 20 in each race this season and is tied for the regular season points lead.

The stellar run should continue at Nashville, one of Elliott’s best tracks in the Next-Gen car. Elliott has been top five in both the total speed ranking (fourth and fifth) and race results (a win in 2022, followed by a P4 last season). He has also led laps in each of the three Cup Series races here. That makes a +800 outright on DraftKings look like quite an attractive option.
