NASCAR DFS Picks, Tiers & Rankings: 2023 Ally 400
Driver As | Fast Thoughts
Martin Truex Jr. will remain my favorite anchor play this week. He won the first two segments last year and had the No. 1 total speed ranking (courtesy of ifantasyrace.com) before poor pit strategy caught up to him. Denny Hamlin is the other top-tier driver I’m trying to roster this week. The No. 11 car had the second-best advanced metrics to Truex Jr. in Nashville last year. Don’t exclude Joey Logano from your NASCAR DFS lineups, who is one of five active drivers here with two T10s in its two races.
Driver Bs | Fast Thoughts
Kevin Harvick, Ross Chastain and Christopher Bell are three of the other drivers with two T10s at Nashville. However, Harvick is the cheapest at $8,800 and has been the most consistent as of late. Keep an eye on 23XI teammates Tyler Reddick and Bubba Wallace, who have both been in the top 10 of total speed rankings at Dover + high-speed 1.5-mile tracks this season.
Driver Cs | Fast Thoughts
I expect most of the C Tier to finish mid-teens or maybe squeeze out a T10 in the 2023 Ally 400. Chase Elliott remains a value on Fantrax ($14.1 in standard leagues). But Michael McDowell, coming off back-to-back T10s, is my favorite NASCAR DFS value on DraftKings at the price of $5,800.
Driver Ds | Fast Thoughts
A.J. Allmendinger had a top-15 total speed ranking here last season and is coming off three straight top-15 finishes. Aric Almirola poled the first running of Nashville in 2021, finishing fourth. Ricky Stenhouse Jr. is still averaging 31.6 NASCAR DFS points per race, despite going for the fair price of $7,300 on DraftKings.
Driver Fs | Fast Thoughts
There’s not much optimism for any drivers in the basement tier for the 2023 Ally 400. However, if I have to take a shot at one of them, it’s Corey Lajoie, who has two T20s here and is averaging 31.5 NASCAR DFS points per race, despite his cheap $5,300 price tag.
