NASCAR DFS Picks, Tiers & Rankings: 2023 FireKeepers Casino 400Driver As | Fast Thoughts

Kevin Harvick has won five of the last seven races at Michigan International Speedway. Before that, Kyle Larson reeled off three straight while running for Chip Ganassi Racing. Denny Hamlin is No. 1 in total speed rankings (courtesy of ifantasyrace.com) at high-speed intermediate tracks this season. He was also No. 1 in total speed rankings and speed late in a run at Michigan a season ago.

Tyler Reddick has had top-four speed the past two weeks and has become a weapon on this track style. The entire A-tier in our NASCAR DFS rankings is loaded this week. I’m doing what I can to squeeze two of these drivers into my lineups for the FireKeepers Casino 400.

Driver Bs | Fast Thoughts

Bubba Wallace finished second here last season and has shown speed on the high-speed intermediates this season. Kyle Busch is relentless and continues to find good finishes when he shouldn’t. Chase Elliot has an 83% T10 rate and the best average finish (8.6) among active drivers.  The No. 9 remains somewhat of a NASCAR DFS value across all formats, going for $9,500 on DraftKings and $15.80 on Fantrax.

Driver Cs | Fast Thoughts

Ty Gibbs recently finished fifth at Pocono, another high-speed, larger track. The 20-year-old also has a win at Michigan in the Xfinity Series and will be pulling double duty this week, too. Chris Buescher might’ve won last week, but his ceiling is a bit limited at Michigan, posting just one T10 in his career. I would rather pivot for the price of $8,400 on DraftKings and $22.24 on Fantrax. Ross Chastain charged from the back and led laps at Michigan last season. However, he got tangled up with Christopher Bell and finished 24th. He remains that same liability for NASCAR DFS lineups this week.

Driver Ds | Fast Thoughts

AJ Allmendinger has a Michigan win in the Xfinity Series. He has a 57% T20 rate in the Cup Series here and could squeeze out another one this weekend. Aric Almirola has had a top-five total speed ranking in two of the last three weeks. However, he isn’t getting the finishes he deserves, making him hard to trust in NASCAR DFS lineups.

Driver Fs | Fast Thoughts

Ryan Preece finished fifth last week. Yet, his price reflects it on DraftKings at $6,600, above some of these other F-tier drivers. If I’m throwing a dart, I prefer to target Harrison Burton for $5,700 on DraftKings and $12.71 on Fantrax. The North Carolina native finished eighth at Pocono two weeks ago and finished fifth here in his lone Xfinity Series start.
