NASCAR DFS Picks, Tiers & Rankings: 2023 Toyota/Save Mart 350

Sonoma Tiers

Driver As | Fast Thoughts

Kyle Larson has five straight poles at Sononoma but just one win. Meanwhile, Tyler Reddick is the new road course ringer but has never finished better than 19th.

William Byron is a value on DraftKings ($9,900) but priced ridiculously high on Fantrax ($27.4). He has four road course poles of his own and had the second-best total speed ranking (courtesy of ifantasyrace.com) at Circuit of the Americas (COTA) this year.

Martin Truex Jr. will once again be a lineup staple, sitting at just $8,800 on DraftKings. He leads all active drivers in wins at Sonoma (three) and laps lead (213) while averaging 45.4 NASCAR DFS points per race this season.

Driver Bs | Fast Thoughts

Ross Chastain had a top-10 total speed ranking at Sonoma last season, finishing seventh. He’s also had a top-four total speed ranking across all road courses since 2022.

Kevin Harvick and Chris Buescher were top-five cars last year, while Kyle Busch remains hot, coming off a win at Gateway.

Driver Cs | Fast Thoughts

Michael McDowell is very much in play this week across all formats. He had top-three speed at Sonoma last year and finished third. In addition, he owns a top-four total speed ranking across all road courses since 2022.

Watch out for Zane Smith in the No. 38 car as a leverage play. He has a T10 in his last Cup Series race and finished second in his only Truck Series Race at Sonoma.

Brad Keselowski isn’t appealing as his teammate, Buescher, this week. However, he scored a T10 in last year’s Toyota/Save Mart 35 and still averages 31.3 NASCAR DFS points per race.

Driver Ds | Fast Thoughts

Justin Haley is better at road courses than realized, finishing 13th at Sonoma last year and 19th at COTA this year. Aric Almirola is surprisingly pulling double duty this weekend, also suiting up for the Xfinity Series.

Driver Fs | Fast Thoughts

Ty Dillon is another driver pulling double duty at Sonoma this weekend, making him slightly more appealing than usual. Andy Lally will be in the No. 15 car for Rick War Racing (RCR) and is as knowledgeable as it gets about road course racing. He might provide some NASCAR DFS points at the low price of $6,200 on DraftKings.
