Known for its birdie-friendly layout, this par-71 course stretches 7,289 yards with bentgrass fairways and greens. Course Overview

  • Name: TPC Deere Run
  • Location: Silvis, Ill.
  • Par: 71
  • Yardage: 7,289 Yards
  • Fairways: Bentgrass
  • Greens: Bentgrass

The John Deere Classic at TPC Deere Run is known for its relatively straightforward layout, leading to low scores and high volatility. The course features tree-lined fairways, which require some control off the tee but aren’t overly punitive. The large greens with challenging slopes, undulations and some elevation changes serve as the primary defenses. However, the course remains very gettable, especially under favorable weather conditions.

Expect some moisture throughout the week, which will keep the course receptive. Winds will be present but not extreme, with sustained winds around 10 mph and gusts in the low teens. These conditions should contribute to the birdie fest, with the projected winning score around -22 and the cut at -3 or -4.

Former John Deere Classic Champions include Sepp Straka (2023), JT Poston (2022) and Lucas Glover (2021).

Stats to Build Around

  • Strokes Gained Tee-to-Green
  • Strokes Gained Approach
  • Strokes Gained Putting on Bentgrass
  • Opportunities Gained
  • Birdie-or-Better Percentage
  • Approach From 100-150 yards and 200+ Yards
  • Good Drives Gained (Distance + Accuracy)

PGA DFS Strategy

Given the lesser field and the nature of the course, it’s advisable to expand your player pool and play more entries at a lower cost per entry. This buckshot approach mitigates the risk of over-investing in any single player. Each pricing tier has multiple viable options, so diversify your picks.
