In the Scope Targets: Top Fantasy Football Free Agent Week 2 Finds

Kendrick Bourne (WR, New England Patriots) | 2.3% Rostership

Kendrick Bourne might not be on everyone’s radar, but he deserves a closer look. In Week 1, he saw a whopping 11 targets, securing six receptions for 64 yards and two touchdowns, earning him the PPR WR4 finish. While both Tyquan Thornton and DeVante Parker were ruled out, Bourne’s performance was a testament to his ability to step up when given the opportunity.

Patriots beat reporters were hyping him during training camp, and it’s clear that his potential is being realized. In 2021, before Matt Patricia and Joe Judge took over the offense, Bourne was the No. 1 receiver in QB Rating per target (138.1) and was second in fantasy points per target (2.58). Bill O’Brien seems to recognize this potential, evident in the 11 targets he received. With his playmaking ability, Bourne could become a valuable asset for your fantasy team that can maybe be added after the waiver wire in Week 2 runs.

Tyjae Spears (RB, Tennessee Titans) | 11.8% Rostership

Tyjae Spears is a name that might not ring a bell for all fantasy managers, but he’s a rookie RB worth keeping an eye on. He’s one of only two rookie RBs with a snap share above 50% in Week 1. While he had just four touches for 28 yards on the ground, he also saw four targets in the passing game, indicating his potential as a versatile option.

Spears offers solid stand-alone value and could be a league-winner if Derrick Henry were to miss time. With Henry nearing the age of 30, the Titans might want to manage his workload, creating opportunities for Spears. His college statistical profile is impressive, and he has the skill set to make an impact in both rushing and receiving. Don’t sleep on Spears; he could be a hidden gem for your fantasy team.
