In the Scope Targets: Top Fantasy Football Week 7 Free Agent Finds
Trey McBride (TE, Arizona Cardinals) | 0.7% Rostered
In Week 6 against the Los Angeles Rams, Trey McBride saw a season-high in snaps, accounting for 58% of the plays – nine more than Ertz. He secured five targets for four receptions and 62 yards. Perhaps the Cardinals are thinking, “Let’s see what we have in some of these young talents, as we’re not winning anyway.”
This makes sense, given that McBride was a 2022 second-round pick, and he boasted a 99th percentile dominator rating (46.3%) at Colorado State. The Seahawks are their next opponent, and they don’t have the most stout pass defense, allowing the fifth-most passing yards per game (257.6). McBride could be a wise stash for those continuing to struggle at the tight end position.
Devin Singletary (RB, Houston Texans) | 27.3% Rostered
Devin Singletary may not have had any explosive performances this season, but he’s now receiving a substantial workload. In Week 6 against the Saints, Singletary had a season-high percentage of snaps in the Texans’ offense (54%), with 34 snaps compared to Dameon Pierce’s 33%. He carried the ball 12 times for 58 yards, outperforming Pierce, who had 13 carries for 34 yards.
Singletary’s skill set is well-suited for Bobby Slowick’s offense, particularly in a zone run scheme, perhaps making him the now-preferred option for an ascending Houston team. Heading into his bye week, Singletary is off everyone’s radar but could be the hot add a week from now.
