2024 Bass Pro Shops Night Race Betting Picks: Outrights

Denny Hamlin (+400)

The betting favorite this week, for damn good reason, is Denny Hamlin. His +400 outright is well-priced for a driver who has won each of the last two races at Bristol, leading 140+ laps in both races.

THe 43-year-old has a pair of additional wins here, leading nearly 1,200 career laps. He’s led seven of the last eight races at “The Last Great Colosseum” and hasn’t had a DNF here in a decade.

All those stats are exactly what Hamlin needs after a nightmare start to the playoffs that’s left the No. 11 six points behind the cutline. This team won’t go without a fight, that’s for sure.

Ty Gibbs (+850)

Another Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR) car that arguably feels just as likely to win at Bristol is Ty Gibbs. Odds of +850 aren’t my favorite for someone who’s never won in the Cup Series, but it’ll happen sooner rather than later for Gibbs.

The No. 54 finished P9 in the spring and P5 last fall, leading over 100 laps in each race. His performance this past spring was one of his best in the Cup Series, as he led more laps there than in any other race this season.

Gibbs is +6 on the cutline, feeling he should have earned better finishes in each of the first two playoff races. The No. 54 team taking things back into his own hands this week would be no surprise.

Brad Keselowski (+1100)

Brad Keselowski follows the theme of drivers on the cutline who have been stellar at Bristol. The three-time Bristol winner is +1100 outright and -12 on the cutline after a mediocre start to the playoffs.

Roush Fenway Keselowski (RFK) Racing has been strong here since Keselowski joined the fold. The No. 6 has finished P8 and P3 in the last two races at Bristol. Keselowski has led in eight of the last 10 Bristol races, leading 40+ laps in six of those. RFK Racing teammate Chris Buescher not only has a Next-Gen win here but is also the series’ most recent winner.

All things considered, Keselowski is well positioned to strike when need be and make up the deficit to advance.
