2024 Go Bowling at The Glen Betting Picks: Outrights

I’ve got to bring back a full-team pick for Watkins Glen this weekend. Hendrick Motorsports (HMS) has won every race at the Glen dating back to 2017 (won by Martin Truex Jr., who isn’t going to be the one to break that streak.)
All four of the HMS drivers have road course prowess, and all but Chase Elliott (+900) have a road-course win in 2024.
Elliott’s days of dominance when making lefts and rights haven’t translated to the Next-Gen car, but Watkins Glen has still been good to him. Prior to last year’s P32 finish, the Georgia native had finished T5 in each of the quartet of races prior. That did include victories in both the 2018 and 2019 races.
Kyle Larson is the favorite this weekend at +600 for good reason. The No. 5 won at Sonoma in the summer and both the 2021 and 2022 Watkins Glen races. Larson has a trio of other T10 finishes here as well.
William Byron, the defending Watkins Glen Cup Series winner, has the second-best odds to do it again at +650. The No. 24 won Circuit of the Americas (COTA) in the spring and has a pair of additional T10s at “The Glen.”
With Alex Bowman scoring the most points in the series on road courses in 2024, his odds of +3500 feel a bit long. Still, the Chicago street course winner has yet to score a T10 at Watkins Glen, with a trio of P14s being the only races worth writing home about.
Tyler Reddick (+900)
If an HMS car doesn’t claim victory, Tyler Reddick has the best shot at +900. Overall, Reddick has kept up his hot streak, finishing T10 in each of the last 10 races sans Daytona.
The No. 45 is also the second-highest in the Ifantasyrace.com total speed rankings on traditional road courses over the last two seasons. Reddick has never finished outside the top 10 at Watkins Glen, and three of his seven career wins have come on road courses. He’ll hope to keep 23XI in the news for good reason with a checkered flag.
