2024 Toyota/Save Mart 350 Betting Picks

Ty Gibbs (+750)

Sportsbooks are especially high on Ty Gibbs this week, and for good reason. A joint-second-best +750 outright on DraftKings seems odd for a driver who’s never won in the NASCAR Cup Series. Still, Gibbs especially thrives on road courses – and it feels like that flies under the radar.

On road courses in the Next Gen era, Gibbs is second only to Tyler Reddick in ifantasyrace.com‘s total speed rankings metric. The No. 54 finished T10 in four of the six 2023 road course races and was third this spring at Circuit of the Americas (COTA).

Chase Elliott (+850)

At one point in time, Chase Elliott was the king of road courses in Cup. Since the move to the Next Gen car, the No. 9 team hasn’t been quite as strong as they once were. But that doesn’t mean that Elliott isn’t still a strong road course driver, sitting as one of the favorites at a +850 DraftKings outright.

He’s especially good in wine country, with a trio of T5 finishes and no finish worse than P8 (excluding a 2019 engine failure) in the last six races. Elliott has also led laps in each of the last four Sonoma races.

A.J. Allmendinger (+1300)

It’s honestly not a stretch to say that A.J. Allmendinger is one of the greatest road-course drivers in the history of the Cup Series. He’s always a threat to win when turning left and right, and a +1300 outright feels quite attractive to me.

Since returning to the Cup Series in 2021, Allmendinger has won a pair of road-course races and has nine more T10s. And those stats don’t include races when he ends up crashing out while running up front, which has been known to happen with the all-or-nothing, trophy-hunting mantra at Kaulig Racing.
