2024 Coca-Cola 600 Betting Picks
Kyle Larson (+450)
Eventually, I’ll stop picking Kyle Larson, just as eventually he won’t be the favorite for every race, but today’s not that day. The eyes of the racing world are on Larson as he aims to complete “The Double,” racing in both the Indianapolis 500 and Coca-Cola 600 on the same day. And although he’s not the favorite at Indy, he’s been damn good in this race.
Since joining Hendrick Motorsports (HMS), Larson has finished P9 in 2022 and absolutely dominated in a 2021 win here. Although Larson did crash late here in 2023, he’s still arguably the best driver on high-speed 1.5-mile tracks, warranting a juicy +450 look at DraftKings.
Martin Truex Jr. (+1000)
Though my faith in Martin Truex Jr. is certainly being tested, he can’t be ignored at Charlotte, especially not at a +1000 outright. Since 2015, he has finished in the top 13 in every Charlotte oval race but one. That stretch includes a trio of wins and a hefty portion of a career 1,059 laps led.
Truex Jr. has been on a hot streak in 2024 as well, finishing in the top four at Dover and Kansas before sustaining damage at Darlington while running near the front.
Chris Buescher (+1300)
Speaking of hot streaks, Chris Buescher is the hottest driver in the Cup Series right now. The No. 17 arguably could and should be walking into Charlotte with two points-race victories in a row, showing race-winning speed at both Kansas and Darlington. Fate didn’t fall his way on those days, but a +1300 price is well worth paying for as good as he’s been.
In a trio of races here with Roush Fenway Keselowski (RFK) Racing, Buescher was P8 in 2021 and 2023, sandwiching his flip in the 2022 Coca-Cola 600. Buescher even has good results here dating back to 2019, finishing P6 in the JTG Daugherty Racing No. 37.
