NASCAR DFS Picks, Tiers & Rankings: 2024 Coca-Cola 600

Driver As | The Elites

Unsurprisingly, Kyle Larson and Denny Hamlin remain the top two drivers in this week’s NASCAR DFS tiers. Larson has three wins in his last six Charlotte races and ranks No. 2 in the 2024 high-speed 1.5-mile total speed rankings (4.0), courtesy of ifantasyrace.com. Meanwhile, Denny Hamlin has a Coca-Cola 600 win in the Next-Gen era and has led laps in the last three races here. Perhaps most importantly, Hamlin is No. 1 in the 2024 high-speed 1.5-mile total speed rankings (3.3).

Martin Treuex Jr. is third in those same comp total speed rankings (5.3) and has five Charlotte wins in his storybook career. Ty Gibbs is fifth in the 2024 high-speed 1.5-mile total speed rankings (6.7), proving the lower-tire wear intermediates are his bread and butter. He won in his first Xfinity Series start at the D-shaped oval and starts on the pole for the BetMGM 300 on Saturday. The 21-year-old is by far my favorite NASCAR DFS value of the week at just $8,300 on DraftKings and $21.44 on Fantrax.

Driver Bs | Point-Getters

Ryan Blaney won this race last year in dominating fashion, leading 163 laps and sporting a 144.9 driver rating. Like 2023 at this time, Blaney has shown us no indication he can win it this year following mediocre runs at Texas and Kansas. I’ll probably avoid the chalk, specifically at DraftKings at $10,300. I also have a hard time paying up for Tyler Reddick. He does have an 80% T rate at Charlotte in his five Cup Series starts here. However, you’re paying for a driver who doesn’t always get the finishes he deserves at $9,700 on DraftKings and $23.32 on Fantrax.

Chris Buescher comes in as the hottest driver in the garage, finishing third in the NASCAR All-Star race after two near wins at Darlington and Kansas. He finished P8 and won stage No. 2 of the 600 last year. William Byron started on the pole and finished second a season ago. However, he’s just ninth in the 2024 high-speed 1.5-mile total speed rankings this year. I’ll avoid him in my NASCAR DFS lineups with a saturated price of $10,000 on DraftKings and $25.06 on Fantrax.

Driver Cs | In the Mix

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. is a must-play at $6,6000 on DraftKings and $14.58 on Fantrax. The driver of the No. 47 car has back-to-back P7s in the 600 and a 75% T10 in his last eight Charlotte starts. During that same time span, Kyle Busch has an 87.5% T10 rate, including five T3 finishes. He was bad fast at Kansas, ranking third at the latest high-speed 1.5-mile track.

Instead of paying up for Reddick, I’ll opt for his 23XI Racing teammate Bubba Wallace in my NASCAR DFS lineup at just $7,7000 on DraftKings and $19.93 on Fantrax. Although he hasn’t been the best at our comp tracks this year, the driver of the No. 23 Toyota finished P4 a year ago.

Driver Ds | Could Do Worse

Austin Dillon is an interesting leverage play for the Coca-Cola 600. The Richard Childress Racing (RCR) driver has finished T10 in three of his last four Charlotte races and even won the 600 back in 2017. It’s up to you if you trust a Rick Ware Racing car to go 600 miles. However, Justin Haley finished P15 in Kaulig Racing equipment last year and is averaging 45.5 DraftKings points per race over the past month. I’ll take it on the platform at just $5,800.

Carson Hocevar was also a weapon in the Truck Series at Charlotte, sporting two T5s in three starts. He also has an impressive P8 in his only Xfinity Series start here and finished P10 at Texas earlier this season in the Cup Series. I’m all in at just $6,3000 on DraftKings and $9.80 on Fantrax.

Driver Fs | The Junk Drawer

The Coca-Cola 600 is a race I highly advise staying out of the F-Tier. If you’re fishing the bottom of the barrel, my best option is the Kaulig Racing drivers Shane van Gisbergen and Daniel Hemric. I have no other reason other than they’re the cheapest drivers I feel comfortable playing. They’ll also likely start deep in the field – offering differential points – and will be low-rostered.
