2024 South Point 400 Betting Picks: Outrights
Kyle Larson (+300)
Taking a 3-to-1 outright on anyone feels disgusting. But this weekend feels like the most obvious Kyle Larson victory there could be.
Larson, who has a pair of victories in this yearโs playoffs already, has won each of the last two Las Vegas races. He has an additional pair of runner-ups here in the Next-Gen era, as well as a spring 2021 victory. The No. 5 car has led no less than 63 laps in each of the last trio of Vegas races and, in his Hendrick Motorsports (HMS) tenure, has only led fewer laps than that twice.
Denny Hamlin (+850)
The playoffs have been relatively pedestrian so far for Denny Hamlin. Heโs had a trio of T10s but hasnโt really been in contention to win since the playoffs began, leading just one lap. But as heโs said, “Now the real racing starts,” with a trio of tracks that play into Hamlinโs favor.
The Virginia native has been strong at Las Vegas in the Next-Gen era and just before it as well. The No. 11 has only finished worse than P11 at Vegas once due to a drivetrain issue in early 2022. Hamlin has led laps in each of the last eight races in Sin City, including a fall 2021 victory.
Joey Logano (+1000)
The even-year magic was kept alive for Joey Logano after a post-race inspection at the ROVAL disqualified Alex Bowman. The No. 22 team earned their first T10 since their Atlanta win at the Charlotte road course and now heads to a track where Logano has three victories. He also has a trio of poles here, including this past spring.
However, the finishes have been unspectacular; outside of a fall 2022 win here, Logano has just one Next0Gen T10 in Sin City. Still, with the lifeline he has been given, I donโt expect the two-time title winner to waste it.
