2024 Xfinity 500 Betting Picks: Outrights
Denny Hamlin (+400)
Iโve gone with Denny Hamlin in both other races in the NASCAR Cup Series Round of 8, so I may as well stick with him here. The No. 11 is the favorite to win at +400 on DraftKings.
Though the most recent of Hamlinโs five Martinsville wins came in 2015, heโs always run quite strongly at “The Paperclip.” The No. 11 has a trio of T5 finishes in the last four races here and has led at least 36 laps in seven of the last eight, including 100+ in four of those races.
Hamlinโs T5 rate is over 50% at Martinsville, and heโs finished T10 at an astonishing 67.6% of the time in his 37 starts here.
Chase Elliott (+650)
Chase Elliott is among the drivers who have won their way into the Championship 4 at Martinsville before, and I like his +650 odds to do so again this year.
Elliottโs Martinsville finishes donโt look abundantly spectacular as of late. Since a P5/P1/P2 run in 2020-21, Elliott had a P16, P17 and three P10s before this springโs third-place run. But the No. 9 led 611 laps in those races, including 289 in the fall 2021 race.
Elliott also led 64 circuits this spring and showed some of the race-winning speed his team will need this weekend by leading 81 laps at Homestead last week.
William Byron (+900)
Considering his Martinsville pedigree, William Byron should have shorter odds than his +900 DraftKings outright. Byron has a pair of relatively dominant wins here in the Next Gen. The No. 24 led 88 laps in the spring and 212 laps in a spring 2022 victory.
Byron also has a trio of additional T5 finishes and another pair of T10s at โThe Paperclip.โ As for his current form, the No. 24 hasn’t finished outside of the top six since Bristol six races ago.
