The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series is old-school racing at its finest.
The third-tier series on the national circuit has its fair share of chaos mixed with a dash of dominance at the top of the field and the ultimate underdog stories as well. Past champions of the series have gone on to become Cup Series superstars, while others have made the trucks more permanent territory.
In 2025, the series’ field looks to be as competitive as it has been in years. Three of the Championship 4 return, and competitors from higher series are back down to fight for the checkered flags. The favorites for this year’s title are across the board.

2025 Craftsman Truck Series Championship Odds, Picks & Predictions
Corey Heim (+225)
Although a +225 outright on DraftKings is a relatively unbettable number, it’s impossible to say Corey Heim isn’t the deserving favorite for this year’s title. It’s been a ridiculously strong last two seasons for Heim. In 45 starts, the No. 11 truck has nine wins, 26 T5s, 37 T10s and an average finish of seventh.
It’s abundantly clear that Heim is the best driver in the series at the moment. As long as he can figure out how to win when it counts at year’s end, there’s no reason not to have faith in a title.
Chandler Smith (+450) & Layne Riggs (+550)
Each of the Front Row Motorsports (FRM) trucks should also find themselves at the front of the field often in 2025. Layne Riggs will spend his second Truck season in the No. 34, with Chandler Smith stepping down from the Xfinity Series to the No. 38.
Smith won five times in a pair of full-time Truck seasons with Kyle Busch Motorsports (KBM) and made the 2022 Championship 4. He followed it up with three Xfinity Series wins and a pair of top-nine points finishes at that level.
As for Riggs, he started off his rookie season slow and missed the playoffs. But he immediately followed it up with back-to-back victories at Milwaukee and Bristol. The second half of the season was much closer to Riggs’ potential, earning seven of his 10 T10s in the last nine races.
We know the FRM trucks have championship potential with Zane Smith’s 2022 title. This season is their best chance to repeat that success.
Daniel Hemric (+850)
In all but one race in his NASCAR career, Daniel Hemric has been the epitome of “always the bridesmaid, never the bride.” He took home the 2021 Xfinity Series title with Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR) but hasn’t returned to victory lane since.
It feels like that streak could be broken with Hemric taking over for Christian Eckes in the No. 19 truck. Eckes won four times and was T10 in all but one race in 2024.
Hemric has a pair of full-time Truck seasons, earning 11 T5 and 17 T10s with Brad Keselowski Racing (BKR) in 2016.
In a move that may be Hemric’s last chance at a competitive ride, it’s time for him to set aside his curse once and for all.
Other drivers to watch: Ben Rhodes (+1600) & Kaden Honeycutt (+2000)
