2024 NASCAR All-Star Race Betting Picks
Kyle Larson (+850)
I know Kyle Larson has been a popular pick for me lately, but it’s for good reason. Not only is he the talk of the industry this month, going back and forth from Indianapolis, but he’s probably the best there is on this type of track as well.
I almost feel like it’s grand theft auto having Larson at +800. He dominated both the Truck Series race and the All-Star Race at North Wilkesboro in 2023, albeit on the old surface. If you consider the Busch Light Clash a fair comparison, Larson finished P5 in each of the trio of Coliseum races. Larson also drove through the field last year in the All-Star main event, so even though he will likely start at the back due to missing the heat races while in Indianapolis, that’s not a good enough reason to bet against him, either.
Ryan Blaney (+950)
Rather than solely relying on statistics, this is much more of a pick based on“what have you done for me lately” and “he will be motivated and willing to do what’s necessary.” Ryan Blaney didn’t have nearly as flashy numbers on the short-track exhibitions, but +950 at DraftKings intrigues me enough.
Blaney, the 2022 All-Star Race winner at Texas, was P6 here last year and P3 at this year’s Clash. Ford is finding its footing, and Blaney had a potentially great finish taken away early on at Darlington. That sets up a perfect opportunity to go take out your frustrations on a short track, beating and banging your way to the front for $1 million the very next week.
