Fantasy Football Quarterback Streamers: Week 12 (2023)

by Stacey Cochran

Holiday season is officially here, along with Week 12 of the NFL! Thursday has three games on the slate, and for the first time, Black Friday will have a game. No teams are on bye this week. Matchups will be tough if you need a quarterback streamer this week. But don’t worry; we are here to guide you past the turkey and gravy and help you get a win for the week.

Each week, we will be looking at players who are rostered in 40% or fewer leagues using ESPN data. Let’s see which quarterback streamers are available and ready to bust the ceiling for your Week 12 matchup.

Fantasy Football Quarterback Streamers: Week 12 (2023)

Matthew Stafford (QB, Los Angeles Rams) | 31.5% Rostered

Heading into Week 12, Matthew Stafford looks to have one of the better matchups. In Week 11, Stafford completed 17 of 31 passes for 190 yards, one touchdown and one interception to finish the day with 9.7 fantasy points. The Rams have three great receivers catching passes from Stafford. Over the last three games, Puka Nacua has a 25% target share, while Tutu Atwell has a 17.9% share. Cooper Kupp has been dealing with injuries this season and is day-to-day with an ankle sprain this week.

The Arizona Cardinals will host the Rams for their Week 12 matchup. The Cardinals are allowing an average of 238 passing yards and 17.9 fantasy points per game to the quarterback position. Stafford is a competitor and not ready to throw in the towel on this season just yet. Week 12 might just be when the Rams’ push for a wildcard spot begins, making him a great quarterback streamer.

Gardner Minshew (QB, Indianapolis Colts) | 6.6% Rostered

This week, I am reaching for good quarterback matchups, and “reaching” is probably the appropriate word. Gardner Minshew is coming off a bye week to face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In Week 10, Minshew completed 18 of 28 passes for 194 yards and one interception, food for 5.7 fantasy points for the day. Leading the way in the receiving department is Michael Pittman Jr., who has earned a whopping 37.5% target share over the last three games.

The Buccaneers travel to play the Colts this weekend. They’re giving up an average of 288 passing yards and 19.2 fantasy points to the quarterback position per game. Minshew has played some good games since taking over for Anthony Richardson. However, he has only had one game over 20 fantasy points. Look for him to bounce back and finish as one of the top fantasy QBs this weekend.

Derek Carr (QB, New Orleans Saints) | 20.8% Rostered

Filling the last spot on our quarterback streamers list for the week is Derek Carr. The Fresno State product is coming off a bye week with a concussion and shoulder injury that caused him to leave his last matchup against the Vikings.  Still, Carr was playing well in the five previous weeks, turning in no finish with fewer than 15 fantasy points.

Now, there is one little problem. At the time of writing, he hasn’t cleared concussion protocol, so there is a chance he won’t play. In that case, his backup, Jameis Winston, will be ready. With a matchup against the Atlanta Falcons, I would start whoever is available.

The Saints will travel to Atlanta for the Sunday afternoon matchup. The Falcons have surrendered an average of 214 passing yards and 18.9 fantasy points per game to the quarterback position. While it’s still up in the air as to who will start this weekend, whoever does will get to put a little distance between the Saints and the Falcons in this divisional game.

We have just three quarterbacks listed for Week 12, but several more are available. Take time and check out more at ESPN.com or your league’s platform. Good luck with your quarterback streamers and all your Week 12 matchups!
