Just when you thought it was safe to go back to the waiver wire, Week 13 happens. Week 13 is one of those weeks with six teams on bye, and yes, I said six teams. However, don’t fear; we have three quarterback streamers that are ready to start. The fantasy football playoffs are just a few weeks away, so it’s time to wake up and make sure you have someone in the driver seat for this week.
Each week, we will be looking at players who are rostered in 40% or fewer leagues using ESPN data. Let’s see which quarterback streamers are available and ready to bust the ceiling for your Week 13 matchup.
Fantasy Football Quarterback Streamers: Week 13 (2023)
Matthew Stafford (QB, Los Angeles Rams) | 31.1% Rostered
The Rams will have their hands full in week 13 against the Cleveland Browns. However, I don’t believe that will slow down Matthew Stafford. Week 12 gave Stafford one of his best fantasy outings of the season. Stafford completed 25 of 33 passes for 229 passing yards and four touchdowns with one interception, ending with 23.4 fantasy points for the day. Puka Nacua is leading the way in the wide receiver room. He has a 25% target share over the last three games and is averaging 10.1 targets per game for the season.
The Cleveland Browns travel to Los Angeles for this Week 13 matchup. The Browns have the best defense against quarterbacks this year. The Browns are giving up 166 passing yards and 11.2 fantasy points to the quarterback position. Yes, I know, it doesn’t look like the best matchup. However, The Rams are still fighting for a playoff spot, and Stafford still has a lot of fight left in him to face the Browns, making him a decent quarterback streamer this week.
Kenny Pickett (QB, Pittsburgh Steelers) | 15.7% Rostered
The Steelers fired offensive coordinator Matt Canada earlier in the week, opening the door for Kenny Pickett to prove he has what it takes. He didn’t disappoint. Pickett completed 24 of 33 passes for 278 yards to finish the day with 11.6 fantasy points. Diontae Johnson and George Pickens have been the target share leaders over the last three games, with Johnson at 25.3% and Pickens at 19%. However, Pat Freiermuth returned to the field to lead the team in targets with 11. Moving forward, Pickett should have the weapons to help take the Steelers to the playoffs.
The Arizona Cardinals will travel to Pittsburgh for the Week 13 matchup. The Cardinals are allowing 238 passing yards and 17.9 fantasy points to the quarterback position. This game is one of the better matchups for the week, which is always a good target for quarterback streamers. Look for Pickett to get a little more freedom in the offense as the season progresses.
Gardner Minshew (QB, Indianapolis Colts) | 7.3% Rostered
The Colts never thought they would lose Anthony Richardson for the season. However, they have a backup that doesn’t see himself as a backup. Gardner Minshew completed 24 of 41 passes for 251 passing yards and one interception in Week 12 against the Buccaneers. He also had three carries for six yards and one touchdown. He finished the day with 14.6 fantasy points. Over the last three games, Michael Pittman Jr. leads the way with a target share of 37.9%, and Josh Downs comes in with a 24.2% target share over that stretch.
The Colts will travel this week to face the divisional rival Tennessee Titans. The Titans are surrendering 248 passing yards and 16.7 fantasy points to the quarterback position. Minshew has the Colts in second place in the division and has an opportunity to still make the playoffs. Minshew still has some magic left and looks to have a few tricks up his sleeve for the Titans this weekend.
