We are rolling into Week 3, and there are still good matchups for streaming a quarterback. The options depend on if you’re looking to shoot for the moon or just maintain a good showing in your league. Streaming a quarterback can be a tough spot to be in, and looking at the matchups trying to determine who to pick up can be a frustrating task. The good news is that we have spent the time looking at some Week 3 quarterback streamers, and we have some great picks for you!
This week, we have three quarterbacks playing against defenses that are all top six in points allowed to the quarterback position.
Each week, we will be looking at players who are rostered in 40% or fewer leagues using ESPN data. Let’s dive in and take a look at our favorite quarterback streamers for Week 3!
Fantasy Football Quarterback Streamers: Week 3 (2023)
Matthew Stafford (QB, Los Angeles Rams) | 29.6% Rostered
When fantasy redrafts started over a month ago, Matthew Stafford was not on anyone’s list to draft at quarterback. Everyone had just about written him off and had his retirement planned. But Stafford has come out strong and is ready to stream. In Week 2, Stafford threw 34 completions and 307 yards on 55 attempts. He added one touchdown and two interceptions for a total of 14 fantasy points. Cooper Kupp is still on the Injury Reserve (IR) list, but that hasn’t stopped Stafford from finding a new weapon. Rookie Puka Nacua has shot onto the scene, and in just two games, he is already setting records. Last week alone, Nacua had 15 receptions for 147 yards on 20 targets.
The Rams travel to Cincinnati to play the Bengals in Week 3, whose defense has allowed 190 passing yards per game. The Rams offense is starting to click, and with Sean McVay calling the plays, look for Stafford to have another good week and be a top quarterback streamer.
C.J. Stroud (QB, Houston Texans) | 7.4% Rostered
In just his second pro game, C.J. Stroud got the Texans excited about their future. Stroud threw 47 attempts for 30 completions and 384 yards, plus two touchdowns and one fumble, ending the day with 21.5 fantasy points. The rookie quarterback has a trio of weapons in Nico Collins, Tank Dell and Robert Woods. They combined for 20 receptions on 28 targets, two touchdowns and 292 yards in Week 2.
Houston will play the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 3. They have been allowing 256 passing yards per game and giving up 21.1 fantasy points to the quarterback position. The Texans are still looking for their first win of the season, but with Stroud coming out to party against the Colts, don’t be surprised if he has another good game.
Baker Mayfield (QB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers) | 10.4% Rostered
It might be only two games, but it was two wins for Baker Mayfield and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Mayfield threw 34 attempts for 26 receptions and 317 yards, as well as one touchdown in the Week 2 win over the Chicago Bears. He finished the day with 18.4 fantasy points. Mike Evans and Chris Godwin are still showing that they have what it takes to compete with the best.
Week 3 brings the Philadelphia Eagles to Tampa Bay, and the Eagles are allowing 170 passing yards per game. They are also giving up an average of 24.1 fantasy points to the quarterback position. Both teams are looking to continue their winning streak, so it will certainly be an exciting game to watch!
