by Stacey Cochran

This season is picking up speed as we head into Week 5. However, buyers beware! The bye weeks are beginning, with four teams on bye for Week 5 and the pool of quarterbacks becoming more limited, to say the least. As we scan the quarterback streamers that are available, there are three that catch the eye.

Each week, we will be looking at players who are rostered in 40% or fewer leagues using ESPN data. Let’s dive into the player pool and see what bargains are out there for quarterback streamers in Week 5!

Fantasy Football Quarterback Streamers: Week 5 (2023)

C.J. Stroud (QB, Houston Texans) | 32.1% Rostered

This rookie quarterback is making a name for himself and not apologizing. In Week 4, C.J. Stroud finished the week as QB10 and beat the Pittsburgh Steelers in the process. He completed 16 of 30 passes and had 306 passing yards with two touchdowns, finishing with 21.8 fantasy points. Nico Collins is leading the way in the wide receiver room, with a 22.7% target share on the season. Look for these two to keep pushing the Texans to the front of the AFC South.

Going into Week 5, Stroud will have his work cut out for him. The Atlanta Falcons are giving up 186.8 passing yards per game and 15.6 fantasy points to the quarterback position. However, as Stroud keeps moving forward, this should be another great week for one of our favorite quarterback streamers.

Joshua Dobbs (QB, Arizona Cardinals) | 2.2% Rostered

Being brought in right before the season started put Joshua Dobbs on a fast learning curve. Coming into Week 5, he is averaging 16.7 fantasy points per game. After facing two of the top defenses in the NFL, Dobbs has proved himself and his ability to play quarterback in the NFL. He took on the San Francisco 49ers in Week 4 and completed 28 of 41 passes for 265 yards and two touchdowns. He also had 12 carries for 48 yards, ending the day with 23.4 fantasy points. Over his last three games, Dobbs has been averaging 48 rushing yards per game.

The Cincinnati Bengals travel to the desert for a Week 5 matchup with the Cardinals. The Bengals have struggled to start the season. They are giving up 225 passing yards per game and 16.9 fantasy points to the quarterback position. Look for Dobbs to play his heart out and continue this great start.

Sam Howell (QB, Washington Commanders) | 8.9% Rostered

Week 4 put Sam Howell against the division rival Philadelphia Eagles, and it was a game to remember! Howell completed 29 of 47 passes for 290 yards and one touchdown while rushing the ball six times for 40 yards. He finished the day with 19.6 fantasy points. In addition, Howell went over a 70% completion rate for the first time this year.

The Chicago Bears are coming into town for a Thursday night matchup, and they’ve been giving up 286.5 passing yards, 34.3 rushing yards and 21.4 fantasy points to the quarterback position this year. If you need a quarterback streamer for this week, Sam Howell should be a top option.

We have just three quarterbacks listed for Week 5, but several more are available. Take time and check out more at ESPN.com or your league’s platform. Good luck with your quarterback streamers and all your Week 5 matchups!
