Don’t blink now, but the 2023 NFL season is moving along into Week 6. Therefore, this can only mean one thing: We are nearly a third of the way through the season. Two teams are on bye this week, and injuries have tightened up the quarterback streamers for the week. But whether your quarterback is injured or on a bye, there are options available for you.
Each week, we will be looking at players who are rostered in 40% or fewer leagues using ESPN data. Let’s see which players are the top quarterback streamers going into Week 6.
Fantasy Football Quarterback Streamers: Week 6 (2023)
Matthew Stafford (QB, Los Angeles Rams) | 34.2% Rostered
If you’re looking for a veteran for the week, Matthew Stafford is your choice. Stafford completed 21 of 37 passes for 222 yards, two touchdowns and 16.88 fantasy points in Week 5. Puka Nacua has been Stafford’s favorite target this year. However, with the return of Cooper Kupp, the ball is going to be tossed around a bit more.
The Rams welcome the Arizona Cardinals to town for the Week 6 matchup. The Cardinals have been giving up 274.4 passing yards per game. They also are giving up 21 fantasy points to the quarterback position. If you’re looking for experience throwing and some good hands to catch the ball, Stafford is the quarterback streamer I would target for Week 6.
Sam Howell (QB, Washington Commanders) | 17.2% Rostered
Sam Howell is showing that he has what it takes to play in the NFL. Howell completed 37 of 51 passes and threw for 388 yards in Week 5. He also added two touchdowns, one interception and four rushes for 19 yards. He finished the day with 25.4 fantasy points and marked over a 70% completion percentage for the second straight week.
The Commanders travel to Atlanta for Week 6. The Falcons are giving up 199.2 passing yards and 15.3 fantasy points per game to the quarterback position. Watch for Howell to improve is his sophomore year with another good performance for Week 6.
Baker Mayfield (QB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers) | 13.1% Rostered
The Buccaneers and Baker Mayfield are coming off a Week 5 bye. Mayfield looks to keep the Buccaneers on top of the NFC South. In their Week 4 game against the New Orleans Saints, Baker completed 25 of 32 passes for 246 yards and three touchdowns. The Heisman Trophy winner also rushed eight rushes for 31 yards in the 26-9 victory. He did have an interception, but he finished the day with 22.9 fantasy points and a 78.1% completion percentage.
Detroit now travels to Tampa for a Week 6 matchup. The Lions have been giving up 249.6 passing yards and 17 fantasy points per game to the quarterback position. Coming off the bye week, look for Mayfield to be a solid quarterback streamer and get the Buccaneers and your team another win.
