The season is moving along, and we have some great news heading into Week 8: There are no byes! After three weeks of byes, the clouds have opened up, letting the sun shine on a full week of games. In other words, there is a full slate of games to pick and choose from for this week’s quarterback streamers! Finding the right quarterback to get you a win is a constant battle. However, Week 8 opens up a larger pool to pick from and help take you to victory.
Each week, we will be looking at players who are rostered in 40% or fewer leagues using ESPN data. Let’s dive in and take a look at our favorite quarterback streamers for Week 8!
Fantasy Football Quarterback Streamers: Week 8 (2023)
Sam Howell (QB, Washington Commanders) | 35.9% Rostered
I know it appears as if Sam Howell will set the record in sacks taken. However, he has already played the Eagles once this year and came close to upsetting them. In Week 4, Howell and the Commanders scored 31 points against Philadelphia, the most the Eagles have given up this year.
Sure, Howell didn’t look as good in Week 7 against the Giants, completing 22 of 42 passes for 249 yards and one interception, adding two rushes for 15 yards to finish the day with 9.5 fantasy points. Over the last three weeks, his top three targets are Terry McLaurin (23.8% target share), Curtis Samuel (18.1%) and Logan Thomas (17.1%).
The Philadelphia Eagles are giving up 248.6 passing yards per game and 17.2 fantasy points to the quarterback position. Howell has an average of 15.7 fantasy points per game for the season. I wouldn’t hesitate to make Howell your quarterback streamer against the Eagles in Week 8.
Derek Carr (QB, New Orleans Saints) | 18.4% Rostered
It seems Derek Carr is still trying to find his way around the Saints’ offense to start the season. However, his last three performances are starting to show relevance for fantasy football. In his last three games, he has scored 15.7, 16.3 and 17.4 fantasy points. Carr completed 33 of 55 passes in Week 7 for 301 yards, one touchdown and one interception, adding three rushes for 14 yards, finishing the day with 17.4 fantasy points. Over the last three weeks, his top three targets are Chris Olave (27.3%), Michael Thomas (20.0%) and Alvin Kamara (22.7%).
The Saints travel to face the Indianapolis Colts in their Week 8 matchup. The Colts are allowing 253.4 passing yards per game and 15.9 fantasy points to the quarterback position. Carr may have started off slow and dealt with injuries to begin the season, but he still has the tools and weapons to have a great game in Week 8.
Kenny Pickett (QB, Pittsburgh Steelers) | 17.9% Rostered
Kenny Pickett is coming off a game in which he didn’t look his best. However, he was able to finish the day with points. He completed 17 of 25 passes for 230 yards and one rushing touchdown, ending with 15.2 fantasy points. George Pickens is the top target for Pickett, with a 33.3% target share over the last three games. However, Diontae Johnson is another week removed from the Injured Reserve (IR), so Pickett’s weapons continue to upgrade in Week 8.
The Jacksonville Jaguars travel to Pittsburgh to take on the Steelers in Week 8. The Jaguars are giving up 284 passing yards and 17.7 fantasy points to the quarterback position. Week 8 will be a good matchup for the Steelers, so this might be a big game for Pickett, making him a great quarterback streamer for the week.
