2024 AutoTrader EchoPark Automotive 400 Betting Picks
Kyle Larson (+400)
Rarely will you see me recommend the outright favorite in a given week, but Kyle Larson is such an enticing selection, even at 4-1. Both Larson, riding high off of a great Indianapolis 500 practice, and Hendrick Motorsports (HMS), riding high off of a podium sweep on the team’s 40th anniversary weekend, are at the top of their game right now.
The No. 5 has won on those cookie-cutter 1.5-mile tracks most similar to Texas seven times since 2021, including that fall at Texas itself. This weekend will be the type of race that the favorites are the favorites and are extremely likely to dominate, and Larson has been perhaps the series’ best at that in recent years.
Tyler Reddick (+600)
Tyler Reddick and 23XI Racing have also been quite strong on 1.5-mile ovals in recent history, making the No. 45’s 6-1 odds look quite attractive if a Hendrick Chevy just isn’t doing it for you this week.
Reddick led 36 laps at Texas last fall and won the fall 2022 race here while still at Richard Childress Racing (RCR). His best run of the 2024 season came at Las Vegas, finishing runner-up to Larson.
Ross Chastain (+1400)
Forgive me for being a little misplaced with Ross Chastain last week; I’m much more confident in the No. 1 team at Texas, especially at 14-1 for the outright.
The 1.5-mile track speed is undeniable for Chastain; a runner-up finish here last season and a P4 at Las Vegas a few weeks ago are good signs. “The Melon Man” also has a win and a P5 at Nashville, a similar intermediate track.
