Updated 2024 NASCAR Cup Series Championship Odds & Picks
- Christopher Bell (+450)
- Ryan Blaney (+800)
- Tyler Reddick (1400)
Christopher Bell (+450)
The current joint favorites for the NACAR Cup Series Championship on bet365 are Denny Hamlin, Kyle Larson and Christopher Bell, each at odds of +450. Popular opinion likely would lean more in favor of the No. 11 and the No. 5, but I think Bell’s No. 20 is the right direction here.
His numbers don’t look quite as sexy nor consistent, largely due to 5 DNFs thus far. But Bell’s trio of wins and T10s in over half the races this season show that the consistency is there when other issues don’t arise.
I do understand those who would rather go for Hamlin or Larson over Bell – they are also the top three in laps led this season, in that order – but at Phoenix, where the title will be awarded, Bell has been the strongest in the Next-Gen car. That includes a victory in this year’s spring race there.
Let’s not forget, that Bell has qualified for the Championship 4 in each of the last two seasons, getting hot at the right time to do so. A team and driver that knows how to win under the toughest of circumstances is a dangerous thing.
Ryan Blaney (+800)
Rarely does the Cup Series have back-to-back champions that aren’t among the greatest of all time in the sport’s history. The last three to do so are Jimmie Johnson, Jeff Gordon and Dale Earnhardt.
But the playoff system truly is the great equalizer, and Ryan Blaney is a perfect example of a driver more than good enough to take advantage of “being there when the pay window is open,” as Clint Bowyer would say.
Blaney, at odds of +800 on bet365, is on a ridiculous hot streak in the summer months. Once Ford got things together, the No. 12 team set sail, earning a pair of wins at Iowa and Pocono and missing out on a third by just a few drops of fuel at Gateway. The fuel mishap and the rainy finish at Loudon are Blaney’s only two finishes outside of the T10 since the Coca-Cola 600.
A Team Penske Ford has won the title in each of the last two seasons, and Blaney is the best positioned to keep that streak alive.
Tyler Reddick (+1400)
Tyler Reddick is having perhaps the most underrated season at the top level, making +1400 NASCAR Cup Series Championship odds on bet365 look like a steal.
The biggest knock against Reddick and 23XI thus far has been inconsistency. And although Reddick has only claimed one victory this year at Talladega, the No. 45 has come within razor-thin margins of about four extra victories. Reddick leads the series in T10 finishes, earning them at nearly a 70% clip this year.
Dating back to one of his near-misses at Darlington, a P22 at Iowa is the only finish outside of the T8 in that nine-race stretch.
It’s inevitable that Reddick will have many a shot at earning more victories this season, including tracks the team and driver have run quite well at in the playoffs. And if he can make it there, the No. 45 led 68 laps in the spring at Phoenix.
