Way-Too-Early 2024 Shore Thing Sleepers

by IBT Media Staff

“Shore Thing Sleepers” isn’t your ordinary fantasy football start/sit article. Instead, our analyst duo of Seth Woolcock and Eric Romoff highlight lower-valued players that can provide starting-caliber production for a specific week. These are usually players near the end of your bench or even on the waiver wire/free agency. With most championships wrapped up or lineups already set this week, they highlight some of their favorite way-too-early 2024 fantasy football sleepers for next season.

Way-Too-Early 2024 Fantasy Football Sleepers

Zamir White (RB, Las Vegas Raiders)

The running back situation for the Las Vegas Raiders remains uncertain, with the status of Josh Jacobs unknown. In the midst of this uncertainty, Zamir White, a fourth-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, emerges as a potential sleeper for the 2024 redraft season. White showcased his speed at the NFL Combine with a 4.4-second 40-yard dash after having a productive career at Georgia.

In three starts this season, White averaged an impressive 95 rushing yards, displaying the ability to be a reliable ground option. Notably, he also exhibited receiving prowess, recording six targets, five receptions and 35 receiving yards in Week 17 against Indianapolis. White seems to have the wiggle and explosiveness to succeed at the next level, demonstrated by a breakaway run rate of 5.1%, ranking 16th among running backs.

While the Raiders may make additional moves at running back in the offseason, White’s profile suggests he could be a steady producer but non-sexy pick, reminiscent of situations like Chuba Hubbard‘s in 2023. Managers looking for a fantasy football sleeper with potential stability in the 2024 season might find value in White. Woolcock

Kendre Miller (RB, New Orleans Saints)

As the New Orleans Saints face significant cap challenges, the future of their backfield becomes a focal point for the 2024 offseason. Alvin Kamara will be 29, approaching the age considered a cliff for running backs. With a potential cost-saving move of cutting Kamara on the table, the Saints may look to the promising Kendre Miller, who is turning 22 this summer.

Miller, a third-round pick (71 overall) in the 2023 NFL Draft, missed his big opportunity this season due to injuries during Alvin Kamara‘s suspension. Despite limited action, he showcased pass-catching ability, catching nine of 10 targets for 111 yards. His impressive junior year at TCU, where he ran the ball 224 times for 1,399 yards, adds to his potential as a key player.

Fantasy managers might recall Miller’s uninspiring 2023 showing after offseason hype, making him a post-hype sleeper to target for the 2024 season. Romoff
