Week 15 Shore Thing Sleepers (2023)

by IBT Media Staff

“Shore Thing Sleepers” isn’t your ordinary fantasy football Week 15 start/sit article. Instead, our analyst duo of Seth Woolcock and Eric Romoff highlight lower-valued players that can provide starting-caliber production for a specific week. These are usually players near the end of your bench or even on the waiver wire/free agency. You can catch an additional sleeper pick live at the end of our weekly in-season Friday podcast episode.

Rostership percentages are based on ESPN Points Per Reception (PPR) redraft fantasy football leagues.

Week 15 Start/Sit Consideration: Shore Thing Sleepers

Devin Singletary (RB, Houston Texans) | 70.3% Rostered

The Houston Texans face the Tennessee Titans in Week 15, and with no C.J. Stroud in the lineup, the offense is expected to take a step back. However, Devin Singletary has been a reliable contributor, ranking as the PPR RB16 on a points-per-game basis since Week 10 (minimum three games played).

Quarterback Davis Mills has a history of targeting running backs, evident in his 24% target rate to RBs last season, tied with Russell Wilson for the second-highest behind only Justin Herbert. With no Nico Collins or Tank Dell, Singletary appears to be the best skill-position player active for the Texans this week.

The absence of stud DT Jeffery Simmons for the Titans changes the dynamics of their defense and loosens up the run game. Last week, Raheem Mostert had a stellar performance, going for 98 yards and two TDs on 21 attempts for 23 PPR points, while De’Von Achane also added 12.1 PPR points. Singletary could exploit the changes in the Titans’ defense and provide fantasy managers with a reliable start/sit option in Week 15. Woolcock

Jaxon Smith-Njigba (WR, Seattle Seahawks) | 59.7% Rostered

In Week 15, Jaxon Smith-Njigba of the Seattle Seahawks faces the Philadelphia Eagles, a team allowing the most receiving yards to wide receivers this season. The Eagles predominantly run a lot of man coverage, and Smith-Njigba demonstrated his ability to exploit this defensive scheme, torching the Dallas Cowboys for 13.2 PPR points, who also primarily run man coverage.

Smith-Njigba is in an expanding role for the Seahawks, with a 34% and 23% target rate in the last two weeks and a 14-target count on third/fourth down in the last four games. With the Eagles’ vulnerabilities in coverage and Smith-Njigba’s increasing involvement in the passing game, he presents an intriguing option for fantasy managers looking for a Week 15 start/sit consideration.
