As we gear up for Week 7, many fantasy managers are starting to feel the pinch of injuries, bye weeks and underperforming players. Staying ahead of the competition with timely waiver additions can make a world of difference, which is why we do something a little different with “In the Scope” and give you the players to add before they become the hot new pickup!
- Josh Downs (WR, Indianapolis Colts) | 49.2%
- JuJu Smith-Schuster (WR, Kansas City Chiefs) | 17.8%
- Demario Douglas (WR, New England Patriots) | 21.1%
- Allen Lazard (WR, New York Jets) | 38.7%
- Christian Watson (WR, Green Bay Packers) | 44.6%
- Romeo Doubs (WR, Green Bay Packers) | 29.7%
- Jalen Tolbert (WR, Dallas Cowboys) | 39.2%
- Xavier Legette (WR, Carolina Panthers) | 28.9%
- Tre Tucker (WR, Las Vegas Raiders) | 19.8%
- Jordan Whittington (WR, Los Angeles Rams) | 8.0%
- Quentin Johnston (WR, Los Angeles Chargers) | 33.3%
- Tutu Atwell (WR, Los Angeles Rams) | 18.4%
- Darius Slayton (WR, New York Giants) | 19.0%
Noah Brown (WR, Washington Commanders) | 0.6%
Noah Brown is unrostered in over 99% of leagues, but that could quickly change after this week. The Commanders rank as the third-best scoring offense and are fifth in total yards per game. With Jahan Dotson traded in the preseason, Brown is seeing an uptick in opportunities. The former Ohio State Buckeye played 64% of the snaps in Week 5, trailing only Terry McLaurin, and led the team in targets with eight, including a red-zone look.
Brown’s ceiling is even higher this week as Washington faces the Panthers, the worst scoring defense in the league. With McLaurin likely facing heavy coverage, Brown could be primed for a breakout game. He’s already proven himself capable of WR1 performances in the past (three last seaosn with the Texans), and this matchup could be his ticket back to fantasy relevance. If you can scoop him up now, you’ll get him before the rest of your league catches on.
Juwan Johnson (TE, New Orleans Saints) | 6.7%
Bub Means (WR, New Orleans Saints) | 0.1%
Bub Means may be the deepest of deep waiver wire targets, but he’s worth a look in the right situation. As with Johnson, the injuries to Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed, as well as Derek Carr, signals that Means could have an opportunity to carve out a role. Last week, he tied Alvin Kamara for the team lead in targets and finished the game as a surprise contributor in a depleted receiving corps.
The Saints’ offense will likely continue to lean on Kamara, but if you’re in a deep league or desperate for a WR dart throw, Means might be worth stashing. With minimal competition and potential opportunity ahead, he’s an intriguing deep-league play with upside.
