NFL Week 3 PrizePicks Player Predictions

Jameson Williams (WR, Detroit Lions) MORE Than 52.5 Receiving Yards

Sunday’s game between the Detroit Lions and the Arizona Cardinals is expected to be high-scoring, with the points total line set at 51.5. These two teams are both 1-1, with each wanting to notch a second win on their records. The Lions could get there with third-year receiver talent Jameson Williams. In the first two games of this 2024 season, Williams averaged 100 receiving yards on five receptions. He and star receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown are figuring to be a one-two punch on the Lions’ offense as favorite targets for quarterback Jared Goff.

The Arizona Cardinals’ defense allows an average of 164.2 receiving yards per game to the wide receiver position, the 10th-most in the league. Though this is Williams’ third year, it’ll likely be his first full year of playing. He didn’t play until later in the 2022 season due to recovery from a torn ACL he suffered in college, and then he was suspended for six games due to gambling in 2023. This is the year for “Jamo.” Take the over on this PrizePicks prop.

Rashid Shaheed (WR, New Orleans Saints) MORE Than 50.5 Receiving Yards

The New Orleans Saints are on fire, starting the 2024 season with a 2-0 record. Between the first two games, wide receiver Rashid Shaheed has averaged 84.5 receiving yards and 24.1 Yards Per Reception (YPR). This PrizePicks line should be easy for him to smash. Hitting the over in four of his last five games, Shaheed is proving to be a force to reckon with.

As the top receiving option for Derek Carr so far this season, Shaheed will look to capitalize on exploiting the Eagles’ defense. Philadelphia has allowed 385 total receiving yards to the position in their first two games against the Green Bay Packers and the Atlanta Falcons.

As of publication, the total is set at 49.5 points for a home game at the Caesars Superdome. Look to Shaheed to be pivotal in moving the chains. The last time these two teams faced was on Jan. 1, 2023. Shaheed was the top receiver in that game, with six receptions for 79 receiving yards. Shaheed was dominant against the Eagles then and will be again this Sunday. Prominent Eagles safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson is also dealing with a foot injury. So if he’s out or limited, this will favor Shaheed all the more. Go all in on this PrizePicks prop.

Javonte Williams (RB, Denver Broncos) LESS Than 45.5 Rushing Yards

The Denver Broncos are 0-2 this season and are on the struggle bus with rookie quarterback Bo Nix. They are squaring off against the 2-0 Tampa Bay Buccaneers this Sunday. Running back Javonte Williams hasn’t quite found his stride as a bell-cow back, with both Nix and Jaleel McLaughlin stealing carries this season. In seven of his last 10 games, Williams hasn’t hit this line of 45.5 rushing yards. Coach Sean Payton has been increasing his use in the receiving game instead, as Williams had five receptions on five targets in Week 2 for a total of 48 receiving yards.

With the points total line for this game set at 40.5 and the moneyline odds favoring the Buccaneers at -300, it feels like an impossible mountain for Williams and the Broncos to climb this week. There’s more to be figured out for the Broncos’ offense and run game. With only totaling 40 rushing yards in the first two weeks combined, Williams isn’t appearing to be a bell-cow back for the Broncos. To compound this, right tackle Mike McGlinchey went on Injured Reserve (IR) this week with a knee injury, and backup Alex Palczewski will be taking his place when they face the Buccaneers.

I’m taking the lower on this 45.5 PrizePicks prediction for Williams.
