Tootsie’s Picks: NFL Week 4 Underdog Pick’Em Predictions

by Rachel (@tootsiepop6)

The upcoming Monday night game between the Tennessee Titans and the Miami Dolphins is anticipated to be low scoring, with the point total only set at 37 and the Dolphins favored to win at -135 on the moneyline. Let’s take a Monday minute and look at a pair of tight end NFL Underdog Pick’Em predictions for this game.

NFL Week 4 Underdog Pick’Em Predictions

Jonnu Smith (TE, Miami Dolphins HIGHER Than 14.5 Receiving Yards

Miami Dolphins tight end Jonnu Smith is one of the underrated players at the position this season. He’s averaging 26 receiving yards per game played. With struggles by backup quarterback Skylar Thompson who now has a rib injury, the Dolphins are switching to starting Tyler Huntley this Monday. What do we know about any “new” quarterbacks? Often they like short passes to the tight end position. In the games Huntley covered for Lamar Jackson while on the Baltimore Ravens last year, he frequently targeted Mark Andrews and Isaiah Likely.

The over on this line hit two out of three times for Smith. At 12 targets, the FIU product is the third-highest target leader on the Dolphins, coming after only Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle. He’s a key piece of this offense. Let’s go over on this Underdog Pick’em line.

Chigoziem Okonkwo (TE, Tennessee Titans) LOWER Than 16.5 Receiving Yards

In his last three games, Tennessee Titans tight end Chigozeiem (Chig) Okonkwo has averaged only 15.3 receiving yards per game. He hasn’t been a big part of the Titans’ offense yet. Quarterback Will Levis is still trying to figure things out since he was handed the keys to drive this team. With an 0-3 record, the Titans are on the struggle bus.

Unable to hit this line in any of his last three games, Okonkwo won’t be able to move the needle on his receiving stats this Monday. He’s only been targeted a total of seven times this season. The Maryland talent is being out-targeted by Calvin Ridley, Tyler Boyd and DeAndre Hopkins. He is also contending with fellow tight ends Josh Whyle and Nick Vannett on the offense. I’m taking the under on this Underdog Pick ‘Em.

Will this Monday game be enjoyable to watch? With a low point total, who knows. Hopefully, there will still be some Monday night magic. Let’s try to make some with these picks!
