2024 Ambetter Health 400 Betting Picks

• Denny Hamlin (+1000)
• Alex Bowman (+2500)
• Erik Jones (+2800)

Denny Hamlin (+1000)

Denny Hamlin is well-known as one of the NASCAR Cup Series’ best superspeedway drivers. His joint-second-favorite odds of +1000 reflect that well-earned sentiment.

Hamlin finished sixth in last year’s spring Atlanta race and raced back to 14th in the summer after being involved in a crash shortly before rain ended the event. The No. 11 team couldn’t lock down a fourth Daytona 500 victory being involved in “The Big One,” but it shouldn’t slow Hamlin down as 2024 kicks into full gear.

Alex Bowman (+2500)

Contrary to Hamlin, Alex Bowman has never been accused of being a top superspeedway racer. That said, he’s becoming a sneaky good play on drafting tracks when able to keep the car clean.

The No. 48’s second-place finish at the Daytona 500 was a third straight top-10 finish for the team in Daytona races. Though longer odds of +2500 accurately reflect just one top-10 at Atlanta in the Next-Gen era, it may not factor in crashes while running near the front in both the summer 2022 and 2023 races here.

Erik Jones (+2800)

Erik Jones started off a new era at Legacy Motor Club with an eighth-place finish in Daytona, and yet his odds moved to a further long shot of +2800 at DraftKings Sportsbook late in the week. Jones has a pair of T10s and hasn’t finished worse than 14th on the new Atlanta circuit.

Additionally, Jones’s superspeedway prowess and luck have resulted in top-nine finishes in six of the last eight races at Talladega, another drafting track similar in racing style to Atlanta.
