2024 Quaker State 400: NASCAR DFS Picks, Tiers & Rankings:
Driver As | The Elites
Ryan Blaney ($10,500) should be worth every penny as the top NASCAR DFS salary on DraftKings this week. He has four T10s in five races at the reconfigured Atlanta and was runner-up in the thrilling finish this spring. Blaney’s quartet of wins at Daytona and Talladega don’t hurt his case either. Tyler Reddick ($8,500) feels like a big-time bargain this week. The No. 45 won the spring Talladega race and has only finished outside the top 10 four times in the 16 races since then. Hendrick Motorsports (HMS) teammates Chase Elliott ($9,500) and William Byron ($9,200) are on the pricey side, but both have won races on the new Atlanta as well as at other superspeedways.
Driver Bs | Point-Getters
Kyle Busch ($8,800) has been on an unbelievable tear as of late, finishing T4 in each of the last three races. After coming so close in the spring, he’s arguably (and actually) a betting favorite to win this weekend. Both Austin Cindric ($7,400) and Daniel Suarez ($7,500) are good mid-range options that not only need to impress at Atlanta for their playoff hopes but have the stats to back it up. Suarez, the spring race winner, has been T6 in four of five races at the new Atlanta. Cindric has finished no worse than 12th in the last four races here.
Driver Cs | In the Mix
A chock-full C-Tier has both high and low-price options for your NASCAR DFS lineup. It’s hard to ignore Denny Hamlin ($10,000) anywhere, but he has just one Atlanta T10 since the reconfigure and hasn’t won a superspeedway race since 2020. Brad Keselowski ($10,300) is a much more attractive high-price option if you’re in that tax bracket. The No. 6 was P2 and P6 in last year’s Atlanta races. Shane van Gisbergen ($5,800) knows enough about keeping his car clean that avoiding the chaos may make him a valuable asset. Or, if you want someone who will create chaos on the way to the front, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. ($6,700) could be poised to back up his P6 from the spring.
Driver Ds | Could Do Worse
Harrison Burton ($6,200) had his NASCAR DFS price heavily inflated by his Daytona win and subsequent playoff inclusion. But he does have a P10 and P11 at the new Atlanta and a T10 at Talladega as well (all races that makeup half of his career T10 finishes). Alex Bowman ($7,000) has found himself near the front more often at the end of superspeedway races as of late but can’t avoid the chaos well enough to back it up with strong finishes. I don’t really like Martin Truex Jr. ($8,100) either; he’s never won a superspeedway race, and his recent trends, in general, don’t give me faith in reversing it. I really can’t even pick up the blind faith for Corey LaJoie ($6,300) here, making the D-Tier generally a complete miss for me.
Driver Fs | The Junk Drawer
I’m sure it’s a shock to see Kyle Larson ($9,700) in the bottom tier, but superspeedways are his kryptonite. Larson has been P30 or worse in four of five reconfigured Atlanta races. On the more optimistic side, both Cody Ware ($5,300) and Justin Haley ($6,100) have been popping up more often than not toward the front of superspeedway races, with each garnering attention a couple of weeks ago at Daytona. And B.J. McLeod ($5,100) was a feel-good story leading laps at the spring Talladega race before having an issue. Whether or not McLeod was simply the guinea pig to burn more fuel leading the pack is another story entirely.
