2024 YellaWood 500 Prop Bet of the Week
H2H Matchup: Kyle Busch (-115) vs. Chase Elliott
It’s “Dega” week. There are two ways to bet superspeedway races. You can either try to hit a larger number and take on more risk or aim low and try to cash a bet that doesn’t pay as much. I am taking the approach of trying to hit one bet and move on to next week. My approach this week is to aim small and miss small.
Kyle Busch knows how to find his way around Talladega. He found victory lane here last spring. Richard Childress Racing (RCR) seems to have a stronger advantage at superspeedways than they seemingly do at any other track type. RCR’s Xfinity Series driver Austin Hill has become a superspeedway ringer.
Busch has had quality finishes at all of the superspeedways as of late. He won Talladega last year, finished third in a photo finish at Atlanta in the spring of and was runner-up at the Coke Zero 400 in Daytona this summer.
The proof is in the pudding. He can find his way to the front, which is where you want to be in this type of racing. I predict he will position himself better throughout the race than Chase Elliott will, but it really comes down to who can avoid the chaos that will inevitably ensue.
