Top-5 Finish: Scottie Scheffler (-150)
The FexEx Cup Playoffs are here, and the stakes have been raised. Scottie Scheffler just took down gold on the world stage once again and showed that when he is playing well, he is unflappable. I’m predicting more of the same out of the World No. 1 this week.
In addition to being a stud, this course fits his game, and the way it sets up should lead to him being on the first page of the leaderboard after 72 holes. This course has narrow fairways, requires you to be sharp from the moment you tee it up and when you miss greens, you better be able to chip.
In 2024, Scheffler ranks 22nd on Tour in driving accuracy percentage. No one is better than the 28-year-old on Tour in both strokes gained tee-to-green and strokes gained on approach. When he misses a green, do not fret, as he ranks fifth in scrambling and ninth in strokes gained around the green. No one in the rest of the field stacks up statistically to what Scheffler’s game possesses in correlation with the important factors that lead to success at this event.
I see the New Jersey native taking a serious run at the FedEx St. Jude Championship title this week.
