Valspar Championship 2024 Prop Bet of the Week

Maverick McNealy: Top-10 Finish (+600)

Maverick McNealy is someone who is trending upwards on the PGA tour, yet the oddsmakers aren’t giving him the respect he deserves. Through eight events so far in 2024, he has made seven cuts and has two T10 finishes.

At +600, the oddsmakers are implying that his probability of finishing T10 this week is 14.29%. If we’re just going by implied probabilities alone, he has obtained finishing T10 in 25% of the events he’s played in this year already. His most recent T10 came last week in a star-studded “fifth Major.”

Key metrics that I am taking into account this week are golfers who are competent off the tee, have good approach games, are great with their putter and can scramble to save par. Where McNealy mildly lacks off the tee in driving distance, he certainly has made up for with his approach game as of late. The metric that I am weighing the heaviest this week is Total Putting; McNealy ranked first on Tour last year in this category. This course is set up great for the 28-year-old to find continued success.
