Sanderson Farms Championship 2024 Prop Bet of the Week
Top 20 Finish: Andrew Novak (+220)
The Sanderson Farms Championship presents a unique challenge for the PGA Tour, as the Country Club of Jackson does not heavily penalize golfers for inaccuracy off the tee. With this course set up, even shorter hitters can be competitive in the field, as many approach angles allow this 7,462-yard course to play much shorter. As a result, we can look to a broader range of players here. Andrew Novak is one of these players, as his 299.5-yard average driving distance ranks just 92nd on Tour.
Now in his third PGA season, Novak has seen consistent growth in his game. In 2024, he’s finished in the top 20 in just over one-third of his appearances after only notching five T20s in 30 starts in 2023. Additionally, most of his success in 2024 has been on easier course layouts with Bermuda greens, which is exactly what we get here in Jackson, Miss.
The Raleigh, N.C., native has been a surprisingly strong statistical golfer during the 2024 season. He has ranked 20th in strokes gained: total, 19th in strokes gained: approach-to-green, and 14th in Greens In Regulation (GIR) percentage. For “bomb and gouge” courses like this, we want to see high approach numbers to the green along with high GIR numbers. Having not played since the Wyndham Championship on Aug. 11, look at this as a fresh start for Novak as we head into 2025. While not the odds-on favorite for this event, Novak presents a solid value bet to finish T20.
