Sanderson Farms Championship 2024 Betting Picks
FedEx Cup Fall Player of the Week: Nick Dunlap (+2200 Outright; +450 Top-5)
Nick Dunlap was the first amateur to win on the PGA Tour in 33 years when he bested the field in Palm Springs, Calif., at The American Express. He then turned pro and won again at the Barracuda Championship in July. A streaky player, Dunlap hit his stride and only narrowly missed participating in the 30-man Tour Championship at the end of the 2024 season.
The Sanderson Farms Championship is a 7,400-yard par-72 in Jackson, Miss., that will reward strong execution of aggressive ball-striking. If that doesn’t describe Dunlap, I don’t know what would. There is a clear advantage for those who can string together birdies and stay hot. The stickiest stat here is proximity on approach from 150 yards and inward, an obvious strength in Dunlap’s game.
While volatile, there isn’t another player in this field with the talent and recent form to match Dunlap’s. In this portion of the season, bettors tend to be conservative with their slips. I’ll throw some weight behind this one and sprinkle in a few other dart throws to get involved in the FedEx Cup Fall action.
